favorite bottle for BF babies????

Postby jennellis » Mon Feb 18, 2013 10:38 am

I used the drop ins with both boys. Just wondering if any of the newer ones were really good for BF babies. neither of my boys liked any of the bottles that didnt have the wide base nipple

I am not sure....but for my little guy he likes the Playtex Vent Air (the "skinny" ones - not the "wide" ones) this is the first one I tried and he loves it.....I have heard a lot of good things about the Dr. Brown's and Avent.......I have not tried them though....

Henry has only had a bottle on about 4 occasions so far, but we've used The First Years Breastflow bottles (http://www.target.com/p/the-first-years ... A-12873540) and haven't had any problems with him taking the bottle or any nipple confusion or anything. Haven't tried any other bottles to give a more varied opinion!

Oh, and here's a snippet from the description of the Breastflow bottles:

Breastflow is a feeding system that requires both suction and compression, just like breastfeeding. The nipple is designed to mimic the breast so baby can latch on and to encourage the same mouth and tongue position as breast feeding. The double nipple system requires both suction and compression, just like breast feeding and baby controls the flow of milk. The Breastflow System is ideal for nursing moms who would like to introduce a bottle. Breastfed babies easily alternate between breast and bottle without the worry of nipple confusion.

We used both Dr. Brown's wide neck and The First Years Breastflow. But my daughter hates all bottles, so I can't recommend either. Every baby is different and will have their own preferences.

We use Avent, but DD doesn't really like bottles. She will only take them when I'm not home, and she doesn't eat as much when she takes them. Good thing I only work 15 hours per week!

The new Similac ones although I never liked using them out b/c they had breastmilk in them, not Similac and I didnt want people thinking I was using similac lol I tried the Medela Calma, which is for BF babies and was 20$ for one bottle and I did not like it, neither did ds. Go figure. Tried it once and its been put away ever since.
