Poll: bleached or unbleached?

Postby mrsjuice » Fri Mar 27, 2009 3:40 am

I'm ordering my pf's today and I just need to make a final decision regarding bleached or unbleached. I have read that unbleached are softer and hide stains better, but I really like the crisp whiteness (clean-look) of bleached...I'm ordering 2 doz. orange edge and 2 doz. yellow edge from GMD if this makes any difference - maybe I should split the order and do 1 doz. of each in bleached, and 1 doz. in unbleached??

Thanks for your thoughts!!

Susan :D

I would do some of each, so you can try them out and see which kind you'll prefer.

I started out with bleached, and now I have this issue where I can't buy any unbleached because they won't match  It's really a problem ;)

They'll both work either way :)

I had to order some bleached for my store because they were out of the unbleached brown edge. The unbleaced are by far fluffier and softer after they've been prepped. Based on that, I prefer the unbleached. I can't comment on the absorbency though, because I haven't used the bleached myself.

I've never tried bleached, but I love my unbleached! I agree...get a little of both and see which you prefer. :D

Well, it is basically just personal preference.

I have both.

The unbleached are super soft right off the bat and the bleached take a little bit to reach that same softness.

I *think* I have heard that the bleached hold up longer. :dunno: Dont quote me on that.

I bought unbleached and then someone gave me some bleached and I think there is a big difference in how soft and fluffy the unbleached they are. I can't comment on absorbency b/c my LO isn't here yet.

I started with bleached orange edge and unbleached cottonbabies infants. The unbleached were soooo much softer and kind of stretchier. I had bleached yellows and now I have unbleached reds and light browns. I still have dark brown bleached and unbleached premiums from DD, too. All that to say I have used both extensively, and I do not find that one is more absorbant or easier to wash, but the unbleached is MUCH softer.

Unbleached!!!

They are soft and fluffy PF perfection!

I had UB orange edges and then got bleached yellows. Ack...they were like sandpaper in comparison. Red edges I'm back to UB and here I shall stay.

UB is the best! I've heard that bleached lasts longer but Ben has been using his unbleached red edges from GMD for just about a year and they still are in EUC, no holes or pills to speak of.

I like unbleached myself b/c they have a more "natural" look. They are softer too, but the few bleached I have are REALLY soft right now, almost softer than my unbleached, so they DO get super soft after months of use...
