I don't personally use cloth mama pads but I have heard that there are actually chemicals in the tampons that draw out blood making some women's flow heavier. When they switch to mama cloth their flow actually is lighter compared to when they used tampons. Just one more reason why cloth rocks! :)

Another rave for mama cloth here!!

I made my own (it's SO easy!!!) using some with hemp french terry, or organic bamboo velour, some with simple cotton and flannel topped, some with hidden PUL inside for heavy days, etc. Some are longer, some are more like panty liners. They are all awesome. In fact, because your flow gets lighter when you use them, you don't even need huge heavy thick ones. My favourites are just the lighter ones, with hemp french terry inside, topped with flannel and backed with microfleece. I used my snap pliers to add snaps, and they don't budge.

I throw them in with the diaper laundry, and none are stained.

And seriously, they are so soft and pretty!!!! Much better than thick, ugly, rustling wads of paper in your panties all day long!

Today I showed my mom my mama cloth that recently came in the mail. Her eyes got all big, and I could tell she was totally grossed out by the idea. She recovered herself quickly, but I could tell she was horrified!

Ok, you made me do it! I just ordered the starter kit from Blossom Pads to try out. Mama pads is one thing I never thought I'd do, but hey, I'm open minded - we'll see how this goes....
