Boiling hemp

Postby cmv_in_sweden » Wed Mar 23, 2011 1:52 pm

So, I think I'm rid of the funk on my BGOS, but the Hemp Babies inserts are still ammonia laden. I bleached them this weekend with the pockets, but still smelly. So I'm going to try boiling the hemp inserts. Do I just stick them in boiling water for a few minutes? Then do I need to wash them again if they are clean?

I added dawn to the boiling water to strip my hemps. Then I rinsed & laundered a few times in hot to get rid of any residual soap. Good Luck![/i]

I boiled them for about 10 minutes then left them in the hot water while my other diapers finished in the wash. Then I put them (by themselves) in the wash with the boiling water and ran 2 cycles of hot/cold wash. There are STILL bubbles coming out of them! It's SO gross how much build up there is on them! I can't believe I waited this long to boil them!!!!!
