NB diapering at night

Postby Christie2007 » Wed Mar 30, 2011 5:49 am

We will likely be using sposies a lot the first month for Lukas, simply because he will be spending a lot of time in the hospital his first month. But, I am not sure what to do about night time diapering when we are home.

We are going to do mainly prefolds and covers while home, and AIOs and pockets when needing to go out and about. But what should I put on him at night? DH will be helping with middle of the night changing and quite honestly, I can't see him sitting there trying to put on a prefold. So, would fitteds and covers be good at night? AIOs? Pockets? I need some help!

I always found fitteds and covers to be the best option at night. You can get some really absorbant ones and they are easier to mess with when sleep deprived :)

I hope Lucas has a speedy uneventful recovery.

I bought several pockets and kissaluv fitteds with thirsties and 6 AIO's. I'm not sure which will be better at night. I'm thinking the AIO

I have always had the best luck at night with bummis covers and a pf. When he was a nb and we were still doing middle of the night diaper changes I would prep them before bed so they were ready to put on. This is also the reason I really liked having dipes with velcro...even tho snaps hold up better in the long run.

We've only been CDing for two nights, but so far my preference is fitteds with covers. I have some Kissaluvs fitteds with snaps, and those fit her really well and are super easy to deal with in the middle of the night. Once I run out of my fitteds (this girls poos and pees like nothing I've ever seen!) we use our small pockets.
