breathable covers

Postby sweetpnaigee » Mon Apr 25, 2011 7:45 am

I noticed ds has some pink, raised rash just bellow his belly button on the side, I think its bc he's been sleeping longer at night so he wears a wet diaper longer. It doesn't seem to bother him though but I want them to go away. I've only been using thirsties duo on him and recently just got a flip. What are some breathable covers I can use? I have a heavy wetter and sometimes its almost impossible to use cloth bc he soaks his dipe so fast and he has sensitive skin so I have to change him as soon as he wet himself.

I love the Drybees Fleece pockets at nights cuz they are breatheable but have a stay dry inner to keep his bum dry.

We use either a wool or fleece soaker overnight with a fitted. It's quite breatheable. Any rash DD might have is gone by morning.

I have a couple fleece soakers but most of ds nighttime fitteds are snappiable and I don't use snappis. I've been wanting to try wool but idk how to care for it.

I dunno, but I hope you find a solution! I had the same problem and have to use sposies at night. :-P I'd love to hear if you find something that works so that I can try it, too.

Our wool covers are the most bullet-proof covers we have. We use them at night and love them. I think there is a sticky on this board with information on wool. I put off getting wool for a long time but after you get used to them, they don't seem so scary.

We use to use Wild Child Wollies ( I think that was it )...a wool cover over a absorbant fitted but so far with my daughter, who's 5 months old, I just use pockets. Perhaps she doesn't have sensitive skin because we haven't had any rash issues.

Wool is nice but I would imagine fleece soakers would be great too. Both would be better than Thirsites I would imagine.

We use a pocket (BG or Rumparooz) stuffed with the fleece insert and a hemp insert. DS is a super soaker and STTN, but this does a good job of soaking it all up. His diaper is HUGE but it does the job!

If you're worried about caring for wool, look for videos on YouTube about washing and lanolizing wool CDs. They make it look easy and not scary at all!
