Does sunning really work?

Postby BrandyJ. » Sat May 14, 2011 7:28 am

I have some BG elementals with staining. The stains are old, I bought them used. I've hung them outside, but I'm just not convinced the sun will really get the stains out.

How long do do you have to leave them?
Is it a process?
Has anyone used lemon juice??

It's not THAT bug of a deal, honestly. But, everyone likes a white dipe!

It fades the stains, yes. It's worked on my BG elementals. I put them out wet and leave them in full sun until they're dry. No lemon juice or anything else.

Thanks girls!! If the sun ever decides to show itself again, I'll try it again. They were already half dry when I hung out side.

On really bad stains it can take a couple of sunnings to get it all out, but it does eventually work.

Are they wet or dry when you put them out? I've had better luck when I put them out wet. And some of the tougher stains took more than one sunning. HTH!

Thanks y'all!! I'm ready to try the sunning again. They were damp not wet or dry when I hung them.

I'm having diaper issues all the way around. I think it's my HE? I may start taking my diapers to my MIL's house to wash them. My diapers , all BG elementals, are practically brand new and they already stink!! Sigh the poop diapers I spray with oxyclean and they still stain.

I'm wondering if anyone has ever used lemon juice to freshen up the dipes and to remove stains. I'm going to google that tonight.

Thanks again. I'll kup

I always hang on the line in the sun to dry my diapers. No dryer here! :D And we have no stains. Nice white dipes (I only use PFs though)
