OT - Babywearing ?

Postby Cinder4320 » Thu Jun 30, 2011 6:21 am

I know it's not cloth but cloth mommas tend to babywear too How safe is it to babywear when pregnant? I mainly use my ERGO but it straps right around my belly and I'm a bit worried.

I would assume that as long as it's not too tight, it shouldn't be a problem. They are so padded in there!

I would just listen to your body. If you aren't uncomfortable, then it should be fine. I think as you get further along it probably gets harder. I don't think I'd have any problems bwing at this point in my pg, but closer to the end, I can't imagine even trying.

As long as you aren't in pain, I think you are fine. Just listen to your body and try it out in short outings to see how it feels. I have an Ergo too, and I would recommend letting the waist band go below the bump and rest low on your hips. I think that would be more comfortable for you than having any pressure on your belly, and would work fine especially for back carry. They sell a waist extender if you need one to comfortably wear the waist band on your hips. 8)

I wore my son on my back when I was 8 mo pregnant in my ergo. He was about 18 1/2 mo at the time and big for his age. You should be fine. :)

I wore DD (at 21mos) for hours through multiple airports when 25-28weeks with my DS. It took a little longer to get into a comfortable position, but it worked great for us.
