eBay/ china cheapies???

Mon Aug 29, 2011 1:10 pm

Anybody ever order these? The brands/sites are babyland, papoose , sunbaby, and alvababy. I've read positive reviews as far as the actual diaper goes but I'm more concerned with the fact that the sellers say it can take 4 weeks to receive them!!!

Anybody have any experience??

I have a dozen Sunbaby diapers for daycare and so far so good (been in use for just about a month.) They only took about two weeks to arrive, maybe a little less.

Thanks! 2 weeks isn't too bad. I'm just anxious to start but I'm having a hard time convincing dh to let me use cloth and the only way he'll let me start is with the cheap ones!

If you are wanting to try before jumping in or even to show DH that you are really wanting to do it, I would recommend the trial from jillains drawers. http://www.jilliansdrawers.com/products ... clothfor10

You get to try LOTS of different kinds of diapers and figure out what kind you like and if you don't like it or want to go the cheap route still you can return them all and you are only out $10..

I have some Babyland pocket dipes from a girlfriend, that are actually pretty okay-- but the microfiber inserts are pretty non-absorbant. I would opt for hemp or bamboo if that's a possibility.

Also, i would, without a doubt, make sure that they have an extra (lower) snap on the hip to avoid wing droop. If that made no sense (my power of description might not be so good), I would go for something with snaps like this:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/NEW-Sunbaby-4-0- ... 20bbeae568
(see how there's three snaps on the wings, 2 top and one lower?)

over this:

(just the two snaps up top)

Hope that made some sense!

I use sunbaby diapers and I honestly love them. I have been using the same ones for a year now and they still look brand new. They are pretty absorbent yet still trim. And you cant beat the price. Mine took a week to come in, i think they just overestimate it.

I bought one alvababy (4 bucks incl shipping) and it works really well. The only downside is I find the insert hard to stuff because teh PUL sticks.. My bgos don't have that problem.

I really like my sunbaby's. In my opinion they fit great, look cute, and whilte the quality is a tiny bit lower than some other brands, they still hold up and do the job well. My only complaint is that the microfiber inserts don't hold enough for my heavy wetter. I'm not a fan of microfiber in general for that reason, but those seem to hold even less than others like Fuzzi Bunz. I just put hemp or bamboo inside instead. I actually just got some Thirsties hemp prefolds and they are so soft and trim and hold a lot! They fit great inside pocket diapers. I think for my next newborn I'll probably order a bunch of sunbaby's instead of using only prefolds like I did last time. They snap down pretty small and I'm sure they would have fit my last baby from birth, or pretty close to it.
