how many?

Postby luvin » Fri Sep 09, 2011 7:17 pm

I just ordered a Kawaii Cloth diaper from theluvyourbaby.comI want to make sure I'm going to like it so I only got one.

How many do I need? I plan to use then from birth as long as they work until she out grows them. (they adjust) I love the minky ones, so thats the one I ordered tonight to see about quality. And they are $10's cheaper than bum genius! 8O So either way, how many would I need to only have to do laundry every 2 days? They give discounts on bulk orders, but then they are all the same color, but still, if I can get the majority in white or pink, then I'm fine with that and I can buy some cute diapers as I go. I also plan to incorporate some wool diapers in there at some point, I just need to either make them or spend a small fortune. haha
It's a girl!!

24 diapers. But I wouldn't count on them fitting from birth. Most OS diapers fit from about 10lbs, and then they are very bulky.

I would a agree with ivycrystals. We have mostly OS diapers. DD is 6 weeks old and they are HUGE on her. They are do-able, but bulky and awkward. I would suggest getting some sort of sized diaper or newborn diaper to start out. We are using prefolds and thirsties size 1.

I agree with what's been said. And for the newborn stage, you might want closer to 30 or 36 dipes. To give an example of how OS diapers fit, my daughter is 5 months and just shy of 15lbs (14lbs, 14.4oz). She is on the smallest setting of our BGs and they fit her perfectly. We just started using them about 3 weeks ago (her primary diaper is still a prefold, but the pockets and AIOs are fantastic for naps, nighttime, and when we're out and about).

I agree. We have 24 prefolds and a half dozen Kawaii pockets, and I do diapers every 3 days. I change him probably every 2 1/2 - 3 hrs during the day and he goes 10 hours at night without a change in a double stuffed Kawaii. No leaks yet!
