Thinking about trying CD

Postby coastieschick » Sat Nov 24, 2012 3:13 pm

I was given four 0-9 month Thirsties brand cloth diaper covers. I'm thinking about trying to CD while we are at home with baby #2 but IDK if I can just put some Gerber cloth diapers in there or if I need to order something specific????

You probably could put a Gerber one in there, but my understanding is that the Gerber ones aren't very absorbent. There are other, more absorbent prefolds available that would work better. I used a Thirsties once, and I think I trifolded a Bummis organic cotton prefold in it. It did leak, but I'm not sure if it was user error, the cover or the prefold.

Ok, that's what I was worried about, so what would be the best daytime diaper insert? If I cd it's just for daytime/at home use. Unless I just fall in love with it I will still use disposables when we run errands/for sleeping.

I've had pretty good luck so far with Best Bottom and Bum Genius inserts.
