Been keeping SUPER busy lately. Everyone in my mom group is coming to me to have pics done and then their friends are calling me... Anyway, this has been SUCH an amazing form of therapy after dealing with the m/c almost 2 months ago. I don't know what I would do with myself if I didn't have a camera!!

Anyway, here are some recent shots from a brother/sister pair that I shot. They have the most amazing blue eyes that look completely different depending on the light... Sorry there are so many! lol!

Aww! Thank you SO much! The more I do this, the more I LOVE it.

Oh, and also wanted to add that I shot all of these images with my 50mm 1.8 lens. Kept the aperture at 2.8 since that seems to be my sweet spot with that lens.

LOVE them!!

I have noticed I need to keep mine at 2.8 or 3 too. Anything below that and I can't nail focus at all.

I saw these on FB, so cute Mary!
I agree, it's really nice to see how far we all have come! I love that we all get to talk photography together!!!

My sweet spot is F2, it's my favourite ap right now on my 50 mm 1.4. They say that the best for focus is actually 2 or so stops above wide open, so shooting at 1.4 isn't going to get me sharper pictures!

My only CC is that the WB is off and their skin tones and clothing colours, etc, are different in the pics and a few are a little soft (around the eyes).

So beautiful Mary! your friends are lucky to have you around~! Keep up the great work!

Thanks everyone!! :)

jodilynn- Wow! Thank you!

Blue- I really truly appreciate your intent with the CC, honestly! :) Although I am not really looking for any CC. I guess I should have mentioned that in the post. It causes me to unnecessarily obsess and I am really happy with how everything looks. Clothing is going to look different in different lighting so I attribute it to that. Also, the eyes are actually very sharp although FB and photobucket have a way of crappifying things. When I zoom in CS4, the eyes are very sharp and crisp. Anyway, thanks again. I hope I don't come off as a jerk, I just tend to be overly sensitive and critical of my stuff. :)

I understand being sensitive. ;) Sorry, when people post here with images, they are usually looking for CC.
Don't obsess, they look great.

Seriously no biggie!! I know you are just trying to be helpful. :) I have always had issues with doubting myself. I REALLY need to get over that though.

I know, I have issues too!! I'm the kind of person who has to be the BEST at everything, and it bugs me if something isn't the best, lol.

I have a photography mentor, and sometimes when I post my end result, I get sooo upset if she nitpicks. Even though it's her job! LOL!
I posted one last week (our challenge was to shoot wide open) and I was over the moon when she said I nailed it.

I'm working on training my eye to see colour issues right now, it's tough. Photography is a loooong journey that never ends, we just have to remember that. But you have natural talent Mary, be happy! :)

I hope I don't come across as a jerk either, but really?? I've always wanted peoples opinions on my work, whether I disagree with it or not. I am always trying to better my photography and improve my business, I just can't imagine ever thinking I didn't need to improve or learn anything more from images I shot.

Again, hope I don't offend, I am genuinely curious about this 8) The pics look great!
