Okay, go easy on me! I've been lurking for ages and finally decided to post.

I took this pic of dd a few weeks ago. She is a tough subject b/c she usually won't look at the camera or she'll give a cheesy grin.

I tried to get the catch lights. I think I almost got it, but not quite. I know some of you don't like tilt. I don't mind a little bit. I didn't do any pp, as I still need to learn how to use PSE (that's on my list for when dd starts preschool next month). This is sooc.

SS - 1/160
ISO - 200

Laura - 43 and still fabulous!

She is SO beautiful Laura! And I love your new siggie pic!

When you edit, you can warm it up, you can see in the shadows in her hair how blue it is (too cool of a white balance). It's a bit underexposed, which makes skin tones greyish/blue and the picture overall look cooler too.
It's fabulous though, great pic of her!

I rarely get eye contact from either kid either. Sometimes that's ok![/img]

What a sweetheart!

I agree with Blue's comments. She is a little blue and a little underexposed. But I think the catchlights look really nice, you're definitely getting there!!

As for the tilt...haha... I don't mind a tilt now and then if it enhances the picture somehow. Personally I think this tilt looks unintentional, like you accidentally turned the camera too much. But I love that you are experimenting with it!

Post more! :)

She's so cute!!

K. Heres my take,
1.under exposed. You can open up your F-stop (smaller number) and it will let more light in and get a better exposure.
2. White balance is off (which can be caused my underexposure too)

Here is how I would edit it.
1. open levels and adjust your exposure
2. open color balance and slide your slider away from blue on shadows, highlights, and midtones
3. then finish off with a sharpening.

I don't have any extra CC to offer. I agree with what's already been said. I just wanted to compliment you on how beautiful she is. And you look great in your new sig. pic :)
