i really can't get enough of my DSLR, i'm super amazed at how the photos come out. I've been skimming/reading through the user guide and just figuring out the set features on there hopefully soon i can play with the manual part. this is my first DSLR, DH bought me Nikon D5000 DX-Format Digital SLR Camera Two-Lens VR Outfit (18-55 VR & AF-S DX VR 55-200mm F4-5.6G) for Mother's Day & Our Anniversary. It seems when i look at these photos i'm like why edit they look awesome but i think once my "OMGosh" feelings disappear i'll find something wrong hehe. lol here's some unedit photos .jpg i haven't played with RAW yet.

I'm glad you are enjoying your new camera! It definitely is exciting to start playing. :)

Were you using flash with the first 2? They seem a bit darkish and the second one in particular looks flashy. The 3rd one was definitely flash right? I think your next step should be to start experimenting with manual mode in some natural light and see where that takes you! You seem to have a good eye for composition and stuff.

Have fun!

i believe not, there's a symbol thats a flower i put it on there and was just testing what they may look like. I'm actually fiddling with ISO now, all this for sure is a whole new world for me. it seems i can do better with nature shots than anything else. i really would like to be good at human subject shots. A totally different persepective coming from a P&S to a DSLR, wow
