Canon repair

Postby Chrisandkarene » Thu Aug 19, 2010 9:18 pm

my Canon 40d has died ... I am so depressed. I need my camera.

My question is where is a good repair shop I bought the camera from Best Buy but figure there are better places to take them.

I don't want to send it off to Canon if I can avoid it.

Okay I'm a weirdo, because I would send it back to the manufacture. You could ask them who they would recommend for repair in your area. Is your camera under warranty? If so you want to send it back to the manufacture.

I don't know where you are located but www.precisioncamera.com is located in CT and I had my camera fixed there. They will do an estimate and if the parts to replace cost more than the estimate they will let you know. I had to pay about 130 to get my d3000 fixed in February.

Best Buy does the shipping for you. That's where they will send it, if you ask.

Sell your canon buy a nikon and it wont break anymore. I had so many issues with duraility when I had a canon. I had thier repair department on speed dial at one point. If its going to cost a ton to fix, seriously consider swithcing brands.
