A Few New Shots and Question On Focus

Postby puddingpop » Tue Sep 14, 2010 11:25 pm

Hey Gals,
My mom was in town this last weekend. Hooray! We took the girls to a park and I took some pictures.

Also I have question on focusing. I am having a horrible time focusing  Is there something else I should be doing? Somebody told me I should turn off the multiple focus points mode on my camera, will this help? I feel so close but so far on focusing it's making me crazy :?

Anyways here are the pics enjoy. As always CC is welcomed :D

I have the same problem. I have so many out of focus shots and it is so annoying. I'll be watching to see the responses.

Cute pics!

We need more info. :) Are you shooting in auto or manual? Are you selecting one focus point and focusing on the subject's eye? What are your settings for these pictures?

Your pictures are very cute, but you are very close up! It will help your focus a bit to back up a little. The closer you are to your subject, the smaller your depth of field will be.

A couple of the pictures look like the focus isn't too far off, maybe just a bit soft. But a couple pictures definitely look very out of focus. Could be some motion blur as well, especially since they are playing. You need to shoot with a pretty high shutter speed when shooting kids who are moving a lot.

HTH!

Updated with settings. I forgot to say all were shot in manual mode.

Minda
Thanks :)

Victoria
I was shooting in manual mode. I was focusing on the eyes as much as I could. Darn kids are fast. Should I be upping my shutter speed more? Number 7 I think is totally due to motion blur.

One thing I was told by my instructor was to take lots of shots. Like 50-100. She said out of those I might get 5 that I like, that are in focus, etc.

I'm still working on it too.
She's here!!!!!
