Hey, just checking in! :) Things have been so crazy! Between work, going to school to get my CDA , taking care of Madeline, cleaning house; I feel as if I never STOP! That is probably why I am sick right now. :( I had to stay off work for two days b/c I have a really bad sinus infection. Oh well, got to keep going :) May be off work but other things keep going!
Madeline is doing good, busy as ever, it is funny how she picks up on things I do like: wanting to put the keys in the door, put the stopper in the door, take a pot and spoon and stir. Her vocabulary is really starting to take off some now, sometimes I don't understand but I try. Her daycare isn't potty training yet, so I am going to start I guess when she turns two, it is funny though b/c sometimes I can she is starting to get ready, like she will wake up dry sometimes! I don't know if it will do any good starting her at home if they aren't at daycare!

Hey TTC!
I am officially done with school for the summer! Sounds like you're very busy!! hope you're feeling better soon!
We're in the same predicament here, too---I have 3 major goals this summer for Ian; one being potty-training (or starting). The other 2 are weaning and toddler bed.
IMO, if they're not potty training at day care, you may have a slow start with things...I was just talking to a neighbor whose LO is 2 1/2, and her mom watches her during the day...well, she was gone for a week, and the LO regressed a bit... I'm going to probably start after the 4th potty training and toddler bedding it.....I HAVE to have him transitioned into a toddler bed before school starts as Mom watches Ian and my sister is due in August--she only has 1 crib and 1 toddler bed~~
As for weaning, I've unofficially cut out the morning snuggle time (hey, it's summer vacation, and we snuggled enough this morning w/o whipping out a boob! ) I did notice too, that he ate a heck of a lot better this morning w/o nursing...
That's all for now! Have a great day! It's beautiful outside here in WI!

Hey girls! My life is pretty crazy! Constantly running between the toddler and the baby. Nick's been pretty needy the last couple of weeks. I think he's still adjusting to not being the baby and the baby needing my attention. Little Peter is such a goofball! When he's feeling good (which unfortunately isn't that often), he's all smiles and giggles. You just walk by him and he's smiling ear to ear! He'll be a real character when he gets a little bigger.

well, gotta run. Little munchkin is hungry again. Just wanted to stop by and say quick hello!

Stace- oh yea I forgot about the toddler bed , I don't think Madeline can climb out of her crib yet, but I don't want her to fall out of her crib before I realize it is time to change !
We bought a potty and she will sit on it , but she hasn't gone in it yet. The other day she had started pooping her diaper and I pulled it off and she finished in the big toilet. I clapped and cheered and she started crying  I felt so bad, I guess I upset her . I was so excited! Then I showed her and started clapping and telling her big girls go in the potty and she was ok then , but I think trying to figure it out! HAHA! Just going to let her work on getting use to the idea.
MK- I bet you do stay busy! I couldn't imagine running after two right now. One of my friends has a baby that is 3 months younger than Madeline and she just found out that she is pregnant again and due in January.

Anyone elses kids talking nonstop?

Seriously. Bailie is like the energizer girl. I love that we can actually have conversations now but sometimes I just want 3 minutes of silence!

All I hear is "I need Milk. I need sissy. I need 'nack! Bye bye birdie! Bye bye mo-mo! Hey you! I love milk. I want outside! Time night night?"

Not to mention her little sister is a super early talker and repeats half of what her big sister says and AHHHHH! I just want to run and hide. LOL

Sorry - needed to vent.

Sounds like you have your hands full!! I hear ya w/ the talking...when Ian gets obsessed with something, he just keeps saying it...like he's obsessed with this radio flyer fold-n-go bike my sister brought over...he can't pedal it, but he just sits and pushes it around and around our backyard patio slab. "Time to go in for lunch" after 10 or so prompts 20 mins. before we ACTUALLY go in and I end up picking him off it...." I want my bike! my bike! It's outside! go outside!" If only I could serve him meals on it...that's how we had morning snack! A toddler, graham cracker in one hand, other hand firmly grasping the handlebars.

And guess what he did today? He broke my nose  Not looking for pity here, I feel tons better than this morning... but it was just that we were snuggling on the couch watching the morning news, when I thought he was headed off it--had his legs in place and then BOOM-he came flying back and got me square in the nose. Cute thing he rubbed his head as if to say 'Mom you hurt my head!' Yep, after a few xrays it was confirmed. I got the blackmail xray pics when he gets older

I know what you mean about the jibber jabber. Madeline has taken off non stop lately. She can say a lot of words now. She will repeat almost anything I say, so I have to be careful. Madeline will say eat, snack, bye, I love you. She knows where everything is: eyes, nose, mouth, head, fingers, toes, bellybutton. She is learning her colors. She knows blue and yellow real good. It is so cute to her her say it. She will also start counting : you can say 1 and she will say 2. Also she kind of sings the ABC song, you can't understand all of it, but I know that is what she wants me to sing when she starts doing that. Madeline runs ALL THE TIME! She NEVER walks anywhere anymore. I wish she would slow down  Madeline wasn't drinking milk at first, but I added Nesquick to it (chocolate kind ) and she is drinking it fine. I know it probably isn't as good for her, but I want her to get SOME milk. Kind of makes me sad on one hand, b/c I know my baby is growing up SO FAST!
Stace- Hope your nose feel better soon! I am sure that is no fun!

time to do some updating here!

Nick will be 2 in just a few days! We're doing a little party for him on the 21st. Should be fun, I just hope it won't be as hot as it's been the last couple of weeks so we can be outside! His latest stats as of today are 31lbs 25"! He still loves his milk ... though we've finally got rid of formula and only use it when we're out and about and I need to mix him a drink and he's drinking goats milk and almond milk instead. Still downs about 30oz a day but since he's not having any other dairy products like cheeses and such because of his allergies, I figured it can't really hurt him. ... and he loves chicken and potatoes in any shape and form!

getting him an Early Intervention check up because he's still not speaking much ... he has less than 10 words that he says clearly and the rest is all gibberish. ... like when we say "juice" ... he says "tk" no matter how many times I try to teach him to say juice, he says tk and things like that. So I figured it's time to get it checked. It might have to do with the repeat ear infections he's had the last couple of months. His pedi thinks he might need tubes put in his ears but we don't have his ear specialist check until October. The Early Intervention appointment is in two weeks. Will keep you posted.

As for the little "baby" ... Peter is not so little anymore! He's now 4.5 months and 16lbs. I guess I give birth to tiny babies but they sure grow big! ... he's such a character! When his tummy doesn't hurt, he's all smiles all the time. He just wants to entertain and be entertained. Can't wait for both boys to be able to play together! Will be easier on me and more fun for them :)

So, who's next with an update?

I am! Sorry the past month and a half has been nuts! We got a new dog, which has been taking up a lot of my free time!
Glad to read everyone's posts, although it seems like a lot of the Sept moms are MIA! Hope to hear from more of you now that our LO's are going to be 2!!!! It's so hard to believe!!!!!!!!

Ian is becoming more independent by the day. He eats applesauce really well from a spoon now--at the beginning of the summer it was a guaranteed shirt change after lunch! The big problem is nap time! He wants nothing to do with it, but when he's asleep, he sleeps for 2+ hours...so he needs it, he just doesn't want to fall asleep! ugh! Any solutions for my problem??

where's everybody? ... busy ... I know :)

so, we didn't end up doing Nic's B-day party as planned because both boys got mild Chicken Pox, sooo, we're doing a mini party this coming weekend.

I tried potty training with Nick but he won't sit on a potty chair and when I put him on the big toilet (on the kiddy seat), he'll sit there for 30 minutes, "read" magazines but won't pee or poo ... not once, so I guess he's just not ready yet. We'll keep on trying.

We had a preliminary evaluation for the Early Intervention and he's getting their BIG evaluation at the end of September. But it's very likely they'll take him into the program. I just re-read what I wrote last time (4 weeks ago) ... and even since then he has not picked up any new words ... not ONE! But, he understands a lot and is our happy little guy so that's what counts. ... who knows, maybe he's just being good old stubborn himself ... he didn't sit until after he started cruising ... just one day basically decided to sit and he did. Was the same thing with walking ... never tried walking with us holding his hands, never took single steps but then at 17 months just decided to walk and hasn't stopped since ... so who knows, maybe he really does have a weird way about learning new things?

And our little Peter is such a sweetheart! Always giggles and has gotten so big! ... Went from 8lbs at 2 months to 16lbs at 5 months. Now he's 5.5 months and already 17.5lbs!!! I think he wants to catch up with his bro so they can play :)

Happy birthday Ian!!!

I can't believe all of our babies are turning 2.

We also tried potty training, but had no success and after 2 days I gave up. We put away the diapers and wore only a t-shirt and panties, went tot he potty every 15 minutes and she never used the potty but had many accidents. She knows AFTER she goes. SHe hasn't figured out she has to pee BEFORE she needs to go. She always comes up to me after she pees or poops, pats her diaper and says either pee or yucky.

No big plans for her birthday. I may just take the kids to Chuck E Cheese for games and pizza. All of our family lies in Dallas and I am not very social so it is hard to have a party. When we visit the family for Thanksgiving we always have a big party for all of the birthdays. There are 10 birthdays Sept-Jan.

We started a Mom'Day Out Program this week. It is 1 day a week. I wanted to get Vivian around other kids her age so she learn to be apart from Mommy, learn social skills and to play with other kids her age.

honey_bee ...you sure have your hands full ... and will even more! How do you do it? ... I've hear that the hardest thing is going from 1 kid to 2 ... but as much as I'd love to have a bunch of kids, I can't think of how I'd actually cope with all that craziness ... but I'm sure the joys outweigh the stress :)

here's some of our latest spamage ... taken two weeks ago as Nick's 2year pictures ... little Peter is already 6 months old! ... they are so much fun to watch together now! I still can't leave them alone together or anything like that but since Peter's already over 18 lbs, he's no longer the tiny fragile baby and I don't have to worry as much as before ... just looking at the pictures you can tell in both boys eyes how much they adore each other :D

MK- your pictures are adorable! I still can't believe our lo's are 2 or soon to be 2!!!!
Ian is saying more words each day, and is actually understandable most times, too! He's getting to be a better eater, although he's still picky at what he eats-he's willing to try things more than once now, which I think is going to help out in the future w/ eating different foods.

And we're expecting, too!!!! I made a ticker last month, but never officially said! April 2011 is our month, and I'm hoping to plan it so I can take my leave for the rest of the school year...it'll be pretty close; if I have to take a few days unpaid, so be it. It's going to be a great summer! :)
