Hi! I'm doing well. Hey, since you seem to be in the same boat as me with your LO being 8 months and you nurse, I've got some questions.

How often does your LO nap? Does your LO sleep through the night? Does your LO nurse for comfort? Sometimes I feel my LO just nurses to sleep so I was curious about what your LO does. My LO also gets up twice a night and it all started about 5 weeks ago. He just got 2 teeth in, but it hasn't gone away...he still gets up. So not sure what it is anymore.

My LO naps after about three hours of wakefulness during the day and ususally stays down for about two hours. I put her down at night at about 8:30pm and she sleeps all the way through the night, until I have to get her up the next morning around 5:30am, so I can get to work. Luckily we haven't had any sleep regressions yet. She is also eating about 5 ounces of solids per day now (don't know if that helps or not cause she was STTN before the solids).

I don't know if you're a SAHM, but I'm a working mom, so my baby does receive much of her breastmilk from a bottle at daycare. So, no...she isn't much of a comfort nurser. She nurses in the morning before I go to work. She is also teething, her first one is just started to poke through her lower gum just a few days ago. I can tell you that I have already been bitten a few times though! Dangit, that hurts!!! I"ve just been keeping her comforted with a dose of Tylenol before I drop her off at daycare and before bedtime.

That's cool for you! My LO has two teeth on the bottom now. He eats like 5 ounces (a whole jar veggies and whole jar fruits) a day, plus 4 tbsp cereal. I am a SAHM so the waking at night is for comfort I'm thinking. I don't think he's hungry or in pain. Now I just have to figure out how to get past this in a way that doesn't require CIO :)

Both of my children were excellent night sleepers early on. I know many don't agree with the CIO method, but I guess that's probably what I used?? If you wanna call it that...

When I KNEW my baby was not crying because of hunger, but was just waking up out of habit (and they DO wake up out of habit), I would gradually delay my response to her fussing. It took no time AT ALL where she figured it out and began sleeping through the night, fuss-free.

Granted I won't let a baby cry for a LONG time or anything like that (it wasn't a cruel process at all in other words), but this technique worked like a charm on both my girls.

That's great! Last night was actually great...he went to bed at 9 pm and didn't wake up till 5 am! Well, he had some moments of tiny fussing twice I think, but nothing to where I needed to go to him...he fell back to sleep on his own. I nursed at 5 am till 5:30 and then he slept until 7:30!! If only every night could be so good :) I'm thankful though!!
