Kathy, wow, who knows how long she was actually in there for. She is a little bigger than Zari, she was 8 pounds 4 oz and 19.5 in long.
Becca, I am an overweight hourglass as well. lol. With Lily, I was dilated to 3 for a couple weeks and asked when baby would be born dr said how about thursday. So I was induced with her at 38.5 weeks. I was only 18 and didn't know much better, I was induced 6 am and she was born at 11 pm with 3 pushes. With Zari, I woke up at 4 am with cramping and told dh I didnt think he was going to work that day. I went to hospital at 7 and they sent me home that I wasn't progressing "fast enough". I was mad, ate some burritos and took a nap. Dh and I bd when I woke up at like 2 pm. That got my contractions really started. We went to my moms for dinner as my grandmas from oklahoma just got in that day but I had to go to the hospital by 7pm and was dying from contractions. I was already at 7 cm and was barely able to get my epidural then. The epidural slowed things down and had to get pitocin again and Zari was also born at 11 pm. I had to push for like 15 min with her though.

I think being taller, that it is easier being pregnant. Baby has more room in your torso and you can breathe easier with out baby taking up all your diaphragm.

Wow, is it common for the epidural to slow things down?

I probably would've delivered faster if they had cut me sooner. That sounds scary but you don't feel it and it can really help a lot. I wasn't tearing naturally. But right after the snip, she was out! And I was completely awed. The first thought in my head was Omg I can't believe I just did that! Haha

I don't like all this talk about labor being easier with being taller lol! I'm only 5'2'' so that doesn't help me a bit :o

Sorry, Mary Jo! To be honest I don't really like all this talk of labor to begin with. It's not a part of this experience that I'm looking forward to very much!

Oh, almost forgot to tell you all this one. So last night I asked DH what time his brother and our niece would be getting to their mom's house. He was like, I don't think he's coming this year. I just stared at him. Remember the onesie for my reveal? It was for his brother's little one! DH knew they weren't coming, but that didn't occur to him the whole time he helped me shop online for the onesie

So now I guess we'll mail it to them, but it ruins the whole reveal plan. Not sure what we're doing now. I told him since it's his family he needs to figure it out lol! We're in the car on our way there now, so I guess I'll see what he comes up with!

It sounds awful but it's over before you know it and the amazing feeling of meeting your baby will diminish any of that anxiety! Trust me at the end of your pregnancy you will be SO ready! I just went through it 25 months ago and I'm not worried about it one bit!

Sorry Mary Jo that was such a cute idea!! Is there still a way you can incorporate the onesie? Like "hey look what we are mailing to the new baby!"

Oh no, Mary Jo! Maybe you could ask a question like, "Hey, do you have box to mail this? Look at this cute shirt we got to send to _____!"

Becca, pretty much it does slow things down. Epidural usually goes hand and hand with pitocin. Buy he time you get the epi, you arent worried about the extra hr or two you took. With it all you feel when baby comes out is a pressure. Contractions feel like a charlie horse all across your stomach. I have gone through labor twice and still want to do it again! Im sure you will too!
Mary jo, my attitude towards labor the first time was , the baby has to come out some way, any way is going to be painful so just do it! Just think of it as just one painful day and then you get this awesome baby! That sucks your plan was so cute!

Darn about the onesie, Mary Jo. I can't wait to hear how the reveal goes!!

I'm 5'7" and had an easy pregnancy but had a long labor (40 hours) but that was mostly because my kid had a HUGE noggin and he got stuck. We found this out after birth because he was born with a huge cone head. I didn't progress for hours. Finally got an epi after about 27 hours, fell asleep and booom 8 cm. I think for me the epi helped me relax so the kid could move on. Pushing was easy for me and the midwife almost didn't get there in time.

Happy thanksgiving everyone!!!
