Hopefully the pharmacists can get their work done so you can feel better fast!

Sheesh, I'm finally home. Hello sweet relief! I chewed up one of those pills as soon as they handed me the prescription bag. People were staring, but I didn't care. A few of them had already been staring at me drooped over my shopping cart for most of the last hour so I'm sure they could see I wasn't feeling well.

I had a few groceries to buy still, so I got checked out as quickly as possible and drove home. By the time I got here, the terrible stomach pains that made even the thought of food make me want to throw up were gone. I'm back to where I was the rest of this week- mild discomfort, but nothing that's going to make me cry in public again.

I decided I should try a piece of toast, and to my surprise, when I felt how soft and fluffy the brand new loaf of bread was, I suddenly wanted a pb&j. I've been eating it slowly, but so far so good. I even sipped on some milk and it didn't threaten to come back up.

Now that I'm not feeling terrible and pissed off at the pharmacist, I will add that I really appreciated the urgent care doctor I saw. I kind of wish she was my regular doctor. She told me to think of my stomach as a big angry monster and it was best to try to sneak food and liquids by it, meaning eat small amounts frequently, nothing too hot or too cold unless it sounded good to me, etc.

She also told me that this was just my first indication of the change that is going to come. Right now my life is being dictated by tiny mass of tissue, but in time that tissue is going to transform and, come July, I will have a living breathing child of my own creation and it was going to change my life in ways I could never imagine. She told me to focus on the end goal, and that when that baby is in my arms, these few fleeting weeks of terrible discomfort are going to be a distant memory. Of course I started bawling right there in the doctor's office. I know she is right, though. I have so much to look forward to and I need to focus on what's coming. I just hope and pray that the next 6 to 8 weeks pass by quickly and that the meds help me keep the nausea under control.

I am really glad I went in today. I was thinking about waiting until my nurse intake appt on Thursday to ask about meds, or waiting until Monday when my doc's office was open to see if they could get me in sooner. I would have been absolutely miserable had I tried to wait.

You ladies are lucky you haven't been hit with morning sickness!

So glad you found some relief! I definitely count my lucky stars that I've never had morning sickness!
The worst i have going on is sciatica. I have a bad back so it doesn't worry me but it is painful. I think it's worse this time because I'm carrying around a 30 lb toddler constantly when all the loosening and stretching is going on. I should probably try carrying her on my left side once in a while!

Becca, hope you're feeling better this evening! What meds did they give you? I have been feeling a bit nauseous the last couple days, just feeling full really fast and today I only ate once at 3pm. Nothing like you though! I hope not to. Most I have ever had ms has just been feeling gross and not that hungry.

Kathy, I got that with Zari, I would get a shooting pain from my right hip area down my butt and leg. I do get round ligament pain with both girls. I bet I will again!

Tomorrow I will be 6 weeks, and its a huge milestone for me! I am so happy that everything is going well. knock on wood.

Jessica, they gave me ondansetron (Zofran). She chose it because it dissolves into the blood stream from the mouth, as opposed to something that needs to be swallowed.

I figured I would have a hard time with morning sickness, since I've always had such a sensitive stomach, but I never imagined I would be as miserable as I was last night and this morning. I'm hoping it really does ease up in January.

I had the constant full feeling for about a week, and then it just went downhill fast the last two days.

I was so relieved the 3+ popped up. It seemed to take forever to calculate!
I'll bet these next two weeks go so fast!!
December always just whizzes by. So much going on and so much to do.

I was reading up on what to expect from the first prenatal appointment. Some clinics do pap smears.. I thought those were bad when you're pregnant because it could hurt the baby..? Does anyone know if it's safe or if it's something to firmly decline?
I didn't have one my first pregnancy but I did hear the nurse say "she had a pap done a few months ago".
So I'm thinking they probably would've done one otherwise.

It only caused some spotting when I got it done with lily, but I was 20 weeks and they said that might happen. I haven't read anything about it, but think its just something they do.
