On a lighter note, here's an embarrassing moment from later that night. A cna came in to check my vitals, she had to wake me up because it was in the middle of the night. But she scared the crap out of me and I accidentally kicked her! I felt so bad. I was there for one more night and I didn't see her again after that. I'm thinking she refused to wake me up again.

hahaha! That is so funny! Can't help reflexes! lol

Omg funny story too, with both girls, my water never broke on its own. And with Zari, my actual ob never responded to the hospital calling him, so the dr on call came to deliver. She was all dressed up in a dress and heels, keep in mind it was a friday night at 11pm, and she just put on some gloves and was going to check me. My water literally exploded all over her. She got soaked! She left the room and came back all gowned and masked up. lol. I told dh too late, she shoulda came like that in the first place!

I figured I'd jump in and say hello while I'm feeling a little better. I have been reading along periodically, but too tired and sick to comment. I'd like to say 1. all the talk of food made me want to vomit ;) and 2. all the talk of cutting and tearing and having your placenta pulled out by hand (seriously?!) is making me question whether I'm really up for this lol.

In other news, I have my insurance plan figured out, dropping my deductible to $650 and co-insurance to 15% (as opposed to $5000 and 50%). That is a HUGE relief. The office I already had appointments at also accepts the new insurance, so I don't have to start from scratch there. They do global billing, so insurance won't be billed until 6-8 weeks after the baby is born. That means we get a little longer than I thought to save up.

I also confirmed that, even though I just have a meeting with the nurse this Thursday, I can still get a prescription for zofran (or whatever they want to give me as long as it works!) that will last me until my next appointment. I have less than 10 pills left from my urgent care visit, so I'm glad they will be able to do that.

The zofran doesn't solve my nausea problems, and I'm still pretty miserable until about 5 or 6 at night, when I can actually eat a small meal. The rest of the day, all I can do is a bite or two of pb&j and the occasional swig of cranberry ginger ale.

At the suggestion of the family I work for (they are doctors, and I told them yesterday, because I wasn't sure I'd make it through the work day), I bought some pedialyte to sip on. My boss says his brother uses it when he's hungover and it helps ease nausea. I also got some vitamin b6. I read taking 25 mg every 6-8 hours is supposed to work better than zofran. I took my first little bit of both of those about 6 hours ago and right now, I'm doing ok.

I also read that zofran and other medications that help with nausea after chemotherapy and other issues, often don't work that well for pregnant women. There is another medication called Doxylamine that is supposed to work in conjunction with vitamin b6 so I may ask them about that.

I have always LOVED food- too much for my own good in fact- so it is so weird for me to have no appetite for so long. It makes me sad! I'm hoping I get a good combo of drugs/supplements going that at least allows me some more comfort during the day.

When I got home from work last night I was so exhausted and Russ said, "One down!" I suppose that's how I should be looking at it. One day at a time! I've got a few under my belt so far and a busy holiday season ahead to speed the rest along. I'm ready for January already...

Aww becca, every time we talk about food i think to myself oh i hope you just gloss over that part! Well, baby has to come out some way or another and and they all hurt! But everyone can do it! Its best to read as much as you can about it so you are prepared. I started a thread probably in june dates as i started it before mc, about what nobody told me about after baby was born. Lots of ladies kept it going and it has a lot of good info and different experiences. Thats great about your insurance! We have a $500 copay for when i give birth, other than that its all covered. Pedialyte sounds like a great idea! When i was doing clinical hours in nursing homes, lots of them were on zofran for different conditions.

Hope you start feeling awesome soon so you can enjoy your pregnancy Becca!
Speaking of learning about birthing, my husband and I went to a birthing class my hospital offered. It wasn't free but it wasn't expensive either. It was about an hour or two once a week for four weeks. It was nice because not only was I learning what to expect but my husband had a better idea of what I was going through and what he could do to help! In all it was just a great bonding experience for us. I highly recommend doing something like that!
We still have our booklets and name tags from the classes. It makes me all nostalgic! :)

Ok, so i took my absolute last hpt today. It was the second digi from last week. I thought i had to pee really bad, but when i did i only peed for 2 seconds. The test says pee for 5 so i was worried i wasted it. I almost threw it away before seeing the result. Then i checked on it and it still said 3+! So thats great!

It's a big relief that i peed on it for half the time and still got the right result. It gives me confidence my numbers are getting really high. It also showed up a lot faster than last week.
