Mary jo, thats the way my apts were with my girls. I only got the 20 week u/s with them. It's what most docs do with a healthy woman and no history of complications. Fx those cramps stay away! I've been backed up too. Try some fiber and lots of water.

Becca, haha. I don't gag for any other reason but brushing my teeth.

Ahh only 9 days til my apt! That's single digits!!!

Mary Jo, that cramping sounds scary! I'm glad there was no blood and I bet Kathy is right about dehydration. I haven't been able to drink much this past week, and while I haven't had cramps in my uterus, it has definitely backed me up and I have had some pretty severe gas pains going on, usually late at night or early in the morning when I'm laying in bed.

I tried the Digclegis last night, and so far, so good! I woke up feeling pretty good, which is pretty typical as of late. Usually about 5 minutes after I first wake up, the nausea starts to hit and I feel like have to hurry to get something in my stomach, including a zofran, before it gets so bad that I'm not able to swallow. I waited for it to get worse this morning, but it didn't. I still feel a dull nauseated feeling, but not like I want to puke!

When they start you on Diclegis, you take 2 pills at night and for some people that's all they need. If it's still bad, you take one in the morning as well. If it's still bad you take one in the afternoon on top of that. I think I am probably going to need the additional morning boost, but I'm hoping to not need the max dose of 4 pills a day.

Now I just need to call the doc's office and have them fax in a prescription for me so I have enough to get me through my trip. I'm feeling pretty confident that I can travel with the help of the new meds!

Great news with the meds! I'm definitely working on having more water! I've never had a problem with getting backed up before, and I'm not liking it one bit!

Well, I spoke too soon. :(
Diclegis does practically wipe out my nausea, but it also gives me migraines. The head-pounding-can't-do-anything-but-lay-motionless-in-a-dark-room kind of migraine. I went to bed at 9 last night and had terrible night's sleep. It also makes me super groggy during the day. I'm getting so frustraed- I feel like I can't win.

I thought about adding the iron back in to help combat the headaches, but the urgent care doctor told me to stop taking it until the nausea was under control because it was likely adding to the problem. Also, both Iron and zofran cause constipation so she was hoping to spare me that extra side affect.

Because the Diclegis did help with the nausea, I took the regular dose of two last night before going to bed. I'm hoping to use zofran during the day and Diclegis at night and hopefully that will keep the headaches at a minimum but still allow some relief of the nausea.

I am totally wiped out this morning, but my boss asked me months ago for this specific date because they had big plans with out of town guests, so it's literally the one weekend I can't cancel.

I don't expect you ladies to have any answers, I just needed to vent.

Sorry to hear about the side effects!
I've developed definite nausea the past couple days but I'm able to keep everything down so I just deal with it. My appetite has decreased majorly. After I eat I just feel like passing out. I also don't sleep due to body aches and constantly needing to pee!

Second trimester should be wonderful!

Thanks guys. I gave in and took another diclegis this morning. I took it with an extra strength Tylenol in hopes that would keep the headache away. So far so good on that front. I am SO tired, though. Only 3.75 more hours of work.

Kathy, sorry to hear you've had some nausea (but secretly glad I'm not alone!) I hate not having an appetite but knowing I need to eat.

I was reading a magazine the doctor gave me and I read ahead to the second trimester. It sounded magical lol. I wish I could just sleep until then!

I had a dream last night that all of a sudden I had my baby- no bump, no delivery, it was just there. And it was a boy. I wasn't sad about that and he was SO snuggly. I just want life to fast forward now!

The second trimester is the absolute best! You look pregnant and feel good! You get some energy back before losing it the next tri. I can't wait for it!

How's everyone doing today? My women's group had to bring treats to church today. I brought cookies but hid away from the food when it was time to eat. I don't think anyone expects much but I'll probably tell them soon.
I have a women's group potluck tomorrow so I can't hide then. I'll either be scarfing everything down or hardly picking. Maybe I'll just tell them tomorrow. I'll be 7 weeks anyway, that's close to 8!

Our women's group (called the Relief Society) had a white elephant party on Friday and I just skipped it. I felt too crummy to go and pretend I was feeling great. I knew it would be full of food and perfume- two things I can't handle sharing a room with right now!

I Had a really hard morning at church. I swear I could smell everything on everyone and it made me so sick! I could smell perfume and hair products and ththasmell that old people sometimes have lol. It was terrible.

I got to go home and lay down just long enough to feel better before leaving for work. One more day I can check off!
