My husband will come for the ultrasound but I'm pretty sure I won't get one until January either so we will all have to live vicariously through Jessica's for a few weeks! I'm excited for it too!
My doctor probably will do the heart beat though because I do remember her listening my first appointment last time. It's possible I was 10 weeks then though, I really can't remember! I know my gyn gave me an ultrasound at 8 weeks and we picked up the heartbeat through that.
I wish I knew if OB was going to try to listen at this appointment cuz it'd be nice to have SOMEONE there for that even if it's not my husband. It's too exciting to experience alone. But if it's just exams then whatever.
At least it'll be nice just to have the "official" confirmation.

Lol. I will post mine asap! I doubt dh will be able to make it to my apt. He works at different job sites so it's not like he can just leave an office early or something. I am sure he will be able to go to the 20 week gender u/s though. If not we are still doing a 3d or 4d so I know he will be there for that one.

Mary Jo, if they aren't doing the exciting stuff, I'd let him skip it! I'm guessing your first appointment will be similar to my nurse visit last week. They basically went over my medical history and asked a ton of questions about my general health and family history. They gave me a book about pregnancy and delivery, and a huge folder full of flyers, magazines, and information about morning sickness, what to eat, what not to eat, all of the basic info for a healthy pregnancy, etc.

I know at my first appointment with the doc in a few weeks, I will be getting an ultrasound, but that's also when my doctor does a pap smear, STD/HIV screenings, and an internal exam. Yours might want to do those things at your first appointment, but if your hubby is anything like mine, he'd rather not be there for that lol. I'm making him come to mine, but he may wait in the waiting room until they are ready to do the ultrasound. I think he would be REALLY uncomfortable sitting through the rest!

Today has been quite eventful. It started out with a poor choice of mine to eat a chorizo burrito for breakfast. I totally regretted it later and felt like I was going to throw up. Dh had the day off, and he wanted to go to the car dealer. He has been wanting an suv since we started ttc. We were driving a nissan altima. So today I got my official soccer mom car, a 2014 dodge durango. I love it. Now we have room for all our car seats!

Congrats on the new car! I went from a Miata to a civic when pregnant with my daughter. I like the civic better actually. I got tired of having no room for anything. Besides during my third trimester i couldn't even fit in it haha

Thank you. The altima was great for the 4 of us, but wasn't going to work with 3 car seats. Lol. Now I can't wait to put a baby seat and baby in it!

I am glad my girls are in booster seats now and can buckle themselves. I think when the baby is born, I will have Zari sit in the 3rd row, and Lily in the second next to the baby, so she can help me if I need her to if the baby is crying. They are excited too. 5 days left til my apt! This week has been going by pretty quickly!

My stomach hasn't been feeling to great the past few days. Just nauseous on and off. Spearmint tea and mints have been helping me get stuff done. I wish I could take a nap all day.

Today I feel less nauseas than I have all week. I had a milk shake last night and I'm wondering if that was what i needed. I have been trying to up my dairy intake but it doesn't always happen. Milk seems to soothe my stomach, it's crazy! Not what I would have expected.

Yes, milk seems to do the trick for me too, only it never sounds good until I'm actually drinking it. I've been getting peppermint blizzards from DQ and that is literally the only thing I've enjoyed eating in weeks. I've had things I thought I enjoyed, but they made me sick when I was done eating them, like the bagel and cream cheese, and fresh veggies dipped in ranch.

The only time I feel good is when I'm asleep. I LOVE going to bed at night and, not having to work this week, I've been able to wake up, take half a unisom and some B6 and go back to bed. It's been heavenly. When I wake up I feel fantastic, but about 15 minutes later, I'm back to normal- nauseous and tired of it!

I wish I could just sleep until January. Even when I wake up in the night and get up to go pee, I still feel really good. It's being awake for more than 15 minutes that does it, whether I'm laying down or not. I'm getting used to dealing with the nausea, but every once in a while I get so fed up with how crappy I feel!

Time for another angry pregnant woman rant! I finally heard from the doc's office that they DID fax my prescription over on Tuesday (it took them 5 hours after I called this morning to let me know). I went to get it and the pharmacy had no record. I called the Dr. office back and they said it was faxed but they'd do it again.

I called the pharmacy to verify that they got it and ask when it would be available to which the girl on the phone proceeded to have a 20 minute conversation with me (putting me on hold several times) trying to tell me that I could just buy unisom. I tried explaining to her that the unisom wasn't working and I wanted the prescribed medicine as it was time release and worked for me. She came back and told me that now diclegis is over the counter (it's not) and I should just come in and they'd help me find it. After over 20 minutes on the phone, explaining the same thing over and over, I finally got the pharmacist on the phone who said she ordered the diclegis for me, but it won't be there until tomorrow.

In the middle of all this, I threw up in my car. I'm supposed to be going to hubby's office party tonight. I don't see that happening. Back to the couch with some movies....
