I love watching baby or birth shows. I have seen the business of being born before, and just watched more business of being born on netflix. It has a few episodes and was very interesting.

I've never seen that one. I'm trying to decide how much is too much for me. I used to watch it and not be bothered, but now seeing someone having a c-section gives me the willies! My sister had to have all 4 of hers by c-section so I've always wondered if I would have the same fate. She's only 5'4 though and had easy pregnancies with little morning sickness, so we don't have that much in common!

I've never really considered the fact that I might have to have a csection. I'd be pretty horrified having one, but whatever is best for baby. I am really just thinking about if I want to get another epidural, or try to go med free.

I'm definitely going for the meds!

So my gap jeans came yesterday morning, but I was too sick to care. Just tried them on and omg, they are HUGE. Like in every direction. They look like clown pants! If I could try a bunch on to see what size I need, I might exchange them, but I think I'm going to stick to old navy for now $20 every day and they fit. I'm really sad about the gap ones, though!

Just got back from my dr appointment. All is well! My ultrasound is a week from today so that's awesome I don't have to wait another month!
Sorry to hear you're both sick. Hopefully the excitement of the gender reveals will help you to feel better! I cannot wait to hear.
As far as the birthing shows, you both are way stronger than I am! I'm too squeamish for all of that.

Haha Kathy, those shows are mostly curiosity for me than anything, but now that it's more of a reality, it's starting to bug me!

Glad you're appointment went well. I think you're lucky to only get a week's notice for your ultrasound- less waiting!

Becca, oh no that's surprising! At least the old navy ones worked out! Epidurals are awesome! Lol. I just have that feeling like, what if I am missing out on that natural hormone high that they talk about. So I *might* want to try it. Lol.

Kathy, yay that's great you don't have to wait so long! All those shows get me pumped up to pop this baby out! Hahaha!

Everyone at the dr office was so shocked that I'm almost 20 weeks already. They're like wow time is flying by and I was like yeah tell me about it! We set up my next 3 appointments so April 7 I'll get my fasting blood test and May 8 I'll get glucose test. It's nice to have them set up ahead of time! I'm excited!

You get two separate tests? I've only had to do one where I drink that orange soda stuff and wait around an hr before getting blood drawn.

What are the fasting blood test and glucose test? I've heard people here mention them but I haven't rwas anything elsewhere and my doctor hasn't mentioned them. It's pretty standard, right?

I'm not sure what the fasting test is for but glucose is a diabetes test. Diabetes is big in both of our families so maybe I just have to get double checked? I'll let you know what I find out about it for sure.

She said the second one I don't have to fast. Don't know what the difference will be.

I have just had the glucose screening test, that everyone gets. Normally, there is no prep other than eat a sensible breakfast and at your apt you drink a super sugary drink and wait for an hr not eating or drinking anything until they draw your blood an hr later. Usually done I cant remember if 24 or 28 weeks, but i am thinking 28. Then usually if you fail that test, you have to come back for a glucose tolerance test, where they will advise you to eat late at night, but you cant eat until after you drink the drink again and have your blood drawn. That test confirms gestational diabetes. I have never failed the first screening test.

Well she told me the next appointment will be fasting blood test and the one after will be glucose tolerance test and no need to fast in that one. I've never failed either. My doctor may just do things differently than normal but I definitely didn't misunderstand her. I was told to fast for the first and eat before the second. Maybe they'll explain more when I come back.

Maybe they do it like that for you since you have a family history. I know sometimes they even do it earlier because of a previous history and then redo it again at the normal time. It's possible that our states do things differently. I know that this is the standard procedure here in CA for the average pregnancy.
Am I the only weirdo that actually likes that orange soda drink? Lol.
