July/August Babies

Postby Puppy Mom 85 » Fri Nov 27, 2015 12:12 pm

Hello,

I got my BFP after my FET. My fresh cycle failed so for the frozen, we chose to transfer two blasts. I'm currently waiting to see how many have implanted. Today I am 5w1d.

The biggest symptom I have right now is that my boobs are in a LOT of pain. But I love having the symptoms because it means the cycle worked.

I hoping for a healthy baby whether it be one or two. So grateful to be on this side of the boards now.

puppymom - So glad to be joining you on this side of TWW! My symptoms have been really minor so far too - sore boobs (although I've had way worse when on progesterone suppositories) and tired!

So far we have only told four people- my sister and her husband and our closest friends. Our friends starting thing to conceive at almost the exact same time as us -- they got pregnant first month trying and now have a 5 month old. I think we'll tell parents at Christmas and everyone else after the first trimester.

Do you know when your first US will be?

That's great that you are able to announce it to your parents at Christmas! Are you going to do tell them any particular way?

I was thinking when we announce it to the world it will be after the first trimester which I believe will be late January. I've been trying to think of something cute, maybe a play on eggs since we have chickens and sell/give away our eggs.

My 3rd beta isn't until Monday and that's when I'll get a date for the ultrasound. Have you been having any anxiety about miscarriage? I had a bad dream a few nights ago that I was bleeding but I haven't had a drop of blood. There's no reason to suspect that anything will go wrong, but I'm still so nervous. I think I will be until I have a baby in my arms.

Hi again ladies! I'm happy to chat here but under the due date month clubs there is a July group. There are 20 of us so far, but I'm noticing the'regular' pregnant lady is not the same as an ivf pregnant lady ;-)

We have told no one. Only my friends on the internet ;-) hehe and the Dr office!

I think as the pregnancy progresses, IVFers become more like regular pregnant ladies, but definitely not in the beginning. Although perhaps in general the pregnancy will always mean more and we'll always be a little more nervous. ;)

Yesterday was a rough day. We lost our 11 year old dog. His breed usually has a lifespan of 8-10 and with him being 11, he was definitely an old guy. It happened very quick. My husband thinks it was a heart attack. I'm just glad that my husband was home. He was supposed to be working but took the day off so we could get our tree.

It all happened very quickly and I was crying a lot. I started feeling cramps while I was crying and became very concerned so calmed myself down. Tomorrow is my 3rd beta and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything looks good.

Ooh puppy mom I'm so sorry :-( dogs are family members. Our girl is 10, and I dread the day when she is no longer with us. I hope you can hold on to memories to warm your heart for now. It's bad enough without all the pregnancy hormones.

Let us know how your bets goes!

Awww, puppy mom, I'm so sorry!! Major hugs to you!

How did your beta go this morning? I had my third one done this morning, but I usually don't get my results until late afternoon. I did have my US and there is one little peanut in there! Couldn't be more excited! We go back in next Monday to hopefully see a heartbeat.

Threedogs, I am loving how quickly your clinic moves! That's so awesome how you already know the gender too!

When I went in for blood work this morning I was there with another woman. The hospital has everyone who is a patient in the women's center building going there for labs so it's not just RE peeps. There was a woman who was talking about how she has a 7 month old from a previous relationship and is pregnant with another man's baby. The current boyfriend offered to pay for an abortion bit she said no, she can raise this baby without his her if needed. I guess she started dating him when she was pregnant with her first. I dunno. Just seemed like such a strange experience while I was sitting there...

ANYWAY, my beta came back at 24,442!! And the strange thing is, I don't even feel pregnant! Ultrasound is booked on Friday because they're down one tech, so the first ultrasound is next Monday!

Eek!!!

Yay Puppy Mom! Your betas are looking great! Are you and your DH specifically hoping to see twinsies on Friday? I know quite a few IVF-ers are anti-twins, some really want twins and others are just hoping for anything they can get! I definitely fall into the last category, but I think my DH falls into the last category with a strong leaning towards the second (but he is super stoked with just the one) :)

That is a crazy story to hear first thing on a Monday morning!! Through this process, we know all too well the pains of infertility, but I sometimes forget that there is a lot of pain that can also go along with fertility -- absentee partners, financial strain, instability, etc. I guess both sides of the coin can be tough.

PGS testing is pricey, but you are right -- it is really awesome that we know the gender of this baby and we know the genders of our frosties. I have to say, I am super glad that we put in 2 blasts-- even thought both embryos were PGS normal and my lining was "text book," one didn't stick. Just goes to show that even when everything is seemingly perfect, there are just no guarantees!

Congrats puppy mom!!! I'm so glad you got good news today! Like three dogs mentioned, what are you thinking will be in there? I fall into the ivf category of give me anything! Single, double, whatever!!! :-)

I go in on Thursday morning for an 8 wk ultrasound. Hoping to see more growth and get some good news. My Dr said they will release me to my normal obgyn if all is good.

Jean - Wow -- so close to graduating! Have you contacted your regular obgyn yet? I am trying to figure out when I should give my obgyn a call (she recommended me to my IVF clinic). I remember reading a post by someone a while back whose regular obgyn was annoyed that they waited until week 8 to make contact. I feel like that probably isn't normal, but just wondering what proper protocol is!

Just got back my third beta -- 6711! A doubling time of ~40 hours -- I'll take that!

Isn't it funny how much our Beta are all different and yet all perfect at the same time? It goes to show you really can't compare one pregnancy to another.

I'm kinda sad to go to regular OB. I feel like me and my nurse have been through so much together. She said there are regular OBs on the same floor who are amazing and if I use them she will get to see me when I come in.

I go back and forth on the idea of twins. On one hand it would be a blessing but on the other I'm scared of the strain of raising two babies at once, both financially and physically. I really can't afford to have to go on bedrest but thankfully I signed up for short term disability last year so that would help out a little.

I think I'm just going to take it that whatever is meant to be will be and if it's twins, we'll be able to handle it. Next week for the ultrasound seems so far away!!

Are either of you thinking about getting a home doppler?

I kinda wish my office did more betas. They only do one! I'm just curious what they would have been, that's all.

Yes I've contacted my regular Dr. I've got an appt for December 18th. She only does Fridays at the office near my house and at that time I will be 10 weeks (normal for first appt I guess). Also- I didn't want to wait until after Christmas so I just took it!

I tossed the idea out about a home Doppler to my husband but we didn't even know where to begin. I'd totally get one but I'll need help. Do you know of a good brand/ how to use it? So glad I have you two ladies with me!

Jean -- Wow - just one! I'm amazed they didn't want to check for beta doubling. I know you said you haven't told anyone yet about the pregnancy - are you going to wait until end of first trimester or tell people at Christmas?

Truthfully, I didn't even know "at home doppler" was a thing! I just did a quick google search, and it seems like there are some that sync up to an iphone app, which is so neat! I'll have to research!

We decided we are waiting until 14 weeks. So we won't be telling until a couple weeks into January. Maybe if we have more kids in the future we will tell earlier, we are just being super cautious.
No one even knows we did IVF. Once we tell and open that can of worms it will be open forever. Worth keeping a secret for now!
Trying to stay positive and hoping and praying for the best.
