Just wanted to check in. Picked up the medication yesterday evening. The fast acting temporary pill seems to be helping me with taking the edge off the panic attacks. I'm hoping the log term pill takes over soon. I'm also hoping that taking pills in general will only be temporary.

I learned yesterday that I'm anemic and was supposed to be taking 2 iron pills, not just one.The nurse said that my exhaustion and worry was intensified by the low iron. So o fixed that and am now taking 2 a day.

I was able to get some sleep last night. Not a lot, but more than I have. Also took a nap today. My heart rate felt increased when I woke up but I didn't have a full blown panic attack so that's progress.

The babies finally put on some weight! The breastfeeding with 6 oz of formula is working and if they need more, we give them more. Next weigh in is Monday.

The babies are taking naps in their cribs and we are still working towards them sleeping there overnight. The bedroom is so close to ours and our bed that the monitor is not needed because they are only like 10 feet away.

Tess, enjoy your last couple weeks of being pregnant. Once the baby is here, your life is forever changed. You'll see. It's going to sound crazy since I was so miserable during my last few weeks but I do kind of miss being pregnant.

Hey puppy mom. How you holding up? My little one is still super gassy. Wednesday night was awful. She was up every hour or so. Think the longest I slept was 45 min straight. Last night i got a 3 hour stretch and it was amazing

Are your panic attacks about something in particular? I honestly wouldn't mind getting some Zoloft for those days where I just want to not care as much lol. Not sure my dr would be down with that. I still might ask ;-)

If you need to chat with someone who's going through it right now, I'll totally pm you girls my cell number.

How you doing Tess?

Well I have a history of panic attacks but never sought treatment because they were usually only related to body temp/overheating and feeling like I couldn't breathe. I'd usually only have a couple a year in the summer. During the process of IVF I had an increase but it was totally manageable and again infrequent.

After the c section I became overwhelmed with DH telling everyone how I lost a lot of blood and blood was on stand by for a transfusion. I saw my blood pressure drop to around 40s instead of the usual 120s. I developed a fear that I was not going to wake up each time I tried to sleep. Plus I was also afraid something bad would happen to the babies overnight so I didn't sleep more than a broken up hour or two each day. I didn't want to shower or eat. I took care of the babies and gave them lots of love and that was it.

Also I guess I was supposed to be taking the iron supplement 2 times a day instead of just once. So the nurse said that with no sleep and being very anemic, it's no wonder I wasn't feeling right.

I feel very guilty about taking these meds. The Zoloft takes 2 weeks to kick in. I take a half an Ativan at night. I tried to cut it to a quarter but I woke up with my heart racing and thinking that I couldn't breathe so now I stick to the half but I'm hoping to be off of it soon.

I still wake up when the babies cry and am able to nurse throughout the night.

I didn't realize how challenging caring for newborns would be but what's crazy is that when they're older, I still want more children.

I also joined a mommy group. I haven't started with any meetings yet but am looking forward to it. DH will either return to work next week but may stay home an extra week. I'm wondering how I'll do on my own day after day. I think I'll definitely miss adult conversation.

Oh puppy mom thanks for sharing your birth story. Yikes about the blood pressure. I don't blame you for being so nervous. And shame on dh for retelling the story over and over! Hopefully he knows now that it upsets you.

Where is this mommy group you joined? I've not seen any groups to join around me. My husband starts a new job on Monday. I'm so gonna miss his help during the day and help With diapers at night

Hello! I was having problems logging in but I'm back! :)

Sorry to hear you've had a rough recovery and transition puppymom. I'm sure it's never easy with twins but hopefully the hardest part is over and as you figure out the right medications and the babies feedings you'll start to feel more normal and comfortable.

I'm starting to feel ready and although I'm dealing with a little insomnia, I know that's nothing compared to the little bit of sleep you get with newborns.

I was the nurse for a pt the other day who had my exact due date. It was kind of surreal bc I know that I could actually deliver a baby right now though I likely have a few weeks to go. Right now I'm 36 and 6. My midwife wants to induce me of the 18th when I'll be 39wks. She said she'd let me go to the 25th (my due date), but I'm feeling more than ready to be done (especially with work) so I'm leaning towards the 18th so I can plan and prepare a little bit.... But we'll see. I might start taking primrose oil once I'm 37wks. It's supposed to soften your cervix... So I'm willing to give it a try. :)

Hey Tess! Glad you are feeling good. I felt great going into labor- I was relaxed because I thought I still had two weeks so I feel like that helped. Get as much sleep/rest as you can so you'll have energy to make it through. Once I checked in I was too excited/nervous to sleep!

How you feeling puppy mom?

I'm doing good. Getting a hang of this nursing at night scenario. The twins both took a nap in their cribs at the same time! They've been sleeping in their swings and will individually take a nap here and there in the crib but today they both slept for an hour together in the crib. Yay!!

Yes! :/ ctxs here and there but nothing special. I started taking evening primrose oil at night... After I finish working this week I might take it 3x a day. I might also start pumping to get things going.

Jean! Did you go into labor yourself or were you induced?

My water broke at home, at 38.1.

We went to hospital to confirm. Although I was pretty sure ;-). It has a very unique smell! Anyways they checked me and said yep- you're not going home until you have a baby!

I was only having small contractions, none at home, so they started me on pictocin 6 hours after my water broke to get things moving.

Time from when water broke at home to baby in arms was 19 hrs. Crazy!

Nope... She checked me last week and I was only dilated to 1 cm, but she said the baby's head was down there. Hoping and praying to go into labor on my own. The plan is at this point to induce me Friday or Saturday if I don't go into labor before.

How are you all doing? Feeling more settled into a routine yet? When are you all planning on going back to work?

Wow!!! Final countdown time! How you feeling? Have everything ready to go? Getting any rest?

I am feeling OK. Last night was amazing, she slept for 4 hours straight!!! That's the longest amount of time I've slept in six and a half weeks! It's a wonder I can even function.... ;-)

Tess you're so close! That baby will be in your arms soon if not already!

I can't believe my twins will be 5 weeks in a couple of days. The time goes by so quick. My return to work day is October 25th. I got 16 weeks with it being twins. I don't know if I can though. Financially I have to and we would just have to find someone to watch them on Tuesdays, but twins are a lot of work and trusting someone with your baby/babies all day long isn't easy...
