How accurate was your due date?

Postby Eren » Tue Jan 06, 2009 7:07 pm

Just wondering.... but since we all pretty much know exactly when we ovulated to almost the hour, lol, I was wondering if that results in a more accurate due date? I know some of us will have a few months to wait before we`ll know, but anyway.... :)

The funny thing is I've read that most babies arrive from two weeks before to two weeks after their due date. Only 5% of babies arrive on their due date. Actually, they want to make all doctors give you a due date “week” rather than a date since most are never accurate.

Very interesting poll though, hopefully many people will answer! :D

Yeah, it`s hard to pinpoint it to a day - everyone is different, but I also read that the due date being off might be due to the O date being off, as most people go by the lmp rather than their O day. :)

I had to vote 5-9 days early, but that's only because I was induced due to PIH. I would guess I would have went into labor on my own within the week so my due date was pretty spot on :)

I gave birth on the exact due date given by the RE when he confirmed our success. Later in the pregnancy, my OB subsequently changed it to two days earlier, but I still like to think my son was born on his due date. :)

I voted 15+ days but I was carrying twins so I knew I wasn´t going to get to my 40 week due date. I was induced at 37w3d (I´ve read 37 weeks is considered full term for twins) but the doctors all calculated my due date for 40 weeks.

My water broke with DS 10 days before due date. That ironically was my last day of work to start my maternity leave...talk about timing!

I voted 15+ days but I actually went into labour at 32 weeks and gave birth at exactly 33 weeks. I had a sub chronic hematoma at 11 weeks but they still to this day don't know why I went into labour early.

I had to be induced due to pih and gestational diabetes..I ended up with a c section 5 days before my due date.I think if I didnt have the health issues my little man would of stayed in way past his due date..he was comfortable in my belly and didnt want to come out!

I voted on my due date, because I went into labor the night before my due date (10pm), and was in labor for 29 hrs. He was born at 2:38 am on the 28th, I was due the 27th -- seeing as that's just 2 hrs shy, I think it qualifies lol. I calculated the date right on, seeing as I had the ovidrel injection, u/s to show the follie had been released 3 days later, etc.

Just 2 hrs shy, damn! lol.
