Just watched Nicu videos of my son

Postby BrandyJ. » Thu Mar 24, 2011 7:50 pm

With my husband.. They were taken a year ago.. Almost to the day. I cried my eyes out!! I can't believe what this past year has brought us.

An 8 week old preemie, with apparent life-threatening episodes, group b strep meningitis, stomach surgery, hydrocephalus, multiple months in Nicu/picu and another baby on the way.

I could never go through this again. The beeping, the alarms, the dim lights.. The video brought this rush of memory over me. I could even smell it.

I'm praying hard for this baby.. Please be strong, my child.

wishing you very smooth rest of the pregnancy!

We almost lost DS1 during delivery and while it all had a happy end, I will never forget the helpless feeling I had those couple hours ... and the fact that DH was away for another 8 days made it even harder. Every time I see tv shows of emergency c-sections I start crying and have this panic attack sort of feeling. I hate it! I was fine emotionally the whole pregnancy with DS2 and then it hit me as I was getting prepped for the c-section ... I couldn't stop crying. All I could think about was what if something goes wrong ... for me, the baby or both. Fortunately this time around DH was with me and it all got 1000% better when I heard DS2 cry.

I can't even imagine what you must be feeling watching those videos. I don't think I'd have the strength to watch them if I was in your shoes.

But don't worry, this baby will NOT be a premie!!! You just have to believe it! :hugs:

my DH downloaded our video cam ...I had forgotten about the videos and it was just by accident..but once we started we couldn't stop.

It's sad that we've been robbed of our innocence when it comes to pregnancy and delivery etc.. I thank God every day that we can hold on to our babies as there are many who can not.

I'm really trying to stay ++++ and take one day at a time.

I hope you' re well, momma...

Oh sweetie, I promise this baby will "GET" sick on occasion, but he/she will not be a sick child! Mark my words, you are going to be fed up with being pregnant and have a healthy baby!
