Hi everyone! I am a preemie mom 3 times over, most recently with my 30 weeker, whose due date was today. He did very well in the NICU and came home at 36 weeks...we are very blessed. My 17 yo was a 26 weeker and was 1 lb 8 oz, and my 14 yo was a 29 weeker, 2 lb 2 oz. I had severe preeclampsia due to Factor V Lieden each time. I am definitely done having babies...this last time was very, very hard on my body. I am a NICU nurse (my last son was a patient in the unit where I work). He is doing great now...he is totally breastfeeding except one fortified bottle a day. He weighed in today at 6 lbs 9 oz. He is such a sweetheart and is thriving :) Nice to see you all on here.
Me: 37, DH: 45
DD-16: 1 lb. 8 oz. (26 weeker, severe pre-e)
DS-13: 2 lb. 2 oz. (29 weeker, severe pre-e)
DS-2: 6 lb. 14 oz (FULL term, no pre-e!)
I have Factor V Leiden, lovenox, baby aspirin pregnancy

I feel your pain.... I have 4 preemies... Never an explanation why. It's tough... Preemie times ranging with my first at 34 1/2 weeks, and down to my itty bitty 28 1/2 weeker... It's not easy... I breastfed all 4 of mine, so it can be done NICU mommas...

Congrats on the fully breastfed! And on getting him home before his due date!
My eldest was 1lb 9oz as a 27 weeker. Thankfully my 2nd was a happy healthy full termer.

How did you find the experience having your baby in your workplace as a NICU nurse? Must've helped that you were so familiar with the system and staff so you knew what you could and couldn't push for. But I imagine it was also hard having your heart on your sleeve around workmates.

NICU nurses were the best of any I'd encountered in the hospital. They were the most aware of the impact their words and actions and attitudes had on the families in their care.
Talia Grace: born Friday 13th of July, 2007, at 27w4d gestation, 700g/1.5lbs. Nursed for 4 years
and Violet Joy: born Thursday 19th, VBAC waterbirth, 39w2d, 3.35kg/7lbs 6oz, still a booby monster, just shared it with her big sister for 18 months.
