Pg after stillborns and a chemical pg this year...UPDATE

Postby kb0420 » Thu Nov 18, 2010 1:24 pm

This is soooo stressful for me. Me and DH want a second baby more than anything. I just got a BFP and I haven't even said anything to DH just yet because we've been through so much this year. I lost twin daugthers in May at 27 weeks. The worst thing that has ever happened to us. Now, I guess I'm a fertile-mertle now b/c we got pg last month and it turned out to be a chemical pregnancy. I started spotting and lost the little bean on my birthday last month. Since the chemical had no real effect on my body we started trying right away. Now just 4 weeks later I just got a BFP this morning. I know it's not a carry over from last month (hcg) because I had 3 BFN tests until today and my symptoms are back. Now I'm like wow, how did it happen so quick; will it be a repeat of last month; will this LO stick; should I tell DH only to let him down again in a few weeks if it's a chemical pregnancy again...it's all sooooo nerve-wrecking

Well I made it into the 2nd trimester with no issues. I go in for the BIG anatomy scan on Feb 10th in just 11 days. This is where it all went downhill with my twin girls and problems found were just out of our control. I'll keep praying that this little one fine. Keep us in your prayers.... I pray for all you ladies on here all the time. :praying:

Thanks for all of your continued prayers. We found out we're having a BOY :babyb: DH and I are sooooo happy for this little blessing. :jump: :jump: :jump:
So far so good. THe anatomy scan didn't show anything out of the ordinary but a white spot on the heart which my healthy DD also had. The doc says he sees many of these each day so nothing to be alarmed about. The genetic counselor threw a lot of numbers and odds for and against every problem known, but we are not going to be frightened by this. We're leaving it in God's hand. No amnio... We're taking what God gives us and I know we wlll be pleased. :D

I am so happy for you, I am in a similar situation. I lost my first in Feb last year- had a d&c at 8 weeks, thought the second would be all fine and then had the big anatomy scan at 21 weeks. That found a severe lifethreatening heart abnormality. I made the decision to terminate after advice from the doctors. We have been trying ever since. I am only just under 5 weeks, but freaking out it may happen again and wont relax until after the 20 week scan. Your story gives me hope, thank you and congratulations.

Congrats to you too....and I'm sending some sticky dust your way! I know easier said than done but don't stress as every pregnancy truly is totally different. I've had several early losses and pretty much knew when things weren't right because I get sick with all my pregnancies. But with the twins, it was a huge disappointment to loss my sweet girls so late in the pregnancy. You and I will always have angels to watch over their new siblings. GL and I hope you have an uneventful pregnancy as we both deserve it.

Congrats to you!! That is so sad what you went through. I think what scares me about trying again is that since my d/c last week, I've spoken to like 9 of my friends who have all just told me that they were in the same boat, or were further along when they had to make that fateful decision, etc. etc. I didn't realize that the numbers were so high for m/c and that is what scares me now. I've only had 2 between 10 years, and I'm so very scared about getting pregnant again. DH and I want to try right away, all the bleeding has finally subsided since my d/c and I have a follow up appt w/my OB next Friday when he'll give us the green light. I just hope that next time, we'll have no real issues and can make it to 9mo's!

Congrats to you both!

I just wanted to update and send a little glimmer of hope to those still trying or waiting for their LO to arrive:

I gave birth to a healthy :babyb: , on 7-14-11, who I can't put down. I went through a lot of stress this pregnancy as you can imagine. I had medicated hypertension the entire time, then in the end my DS had his cord wrapped around his neck twice. God saw this pregnancy through regardless of all the obstacles. It can happen for you too! God bless all of your pregnancies and those that are still TTC.
