My niece may not be able to be breastfeed because of some medication for her mom so I want to offer my milk. I have about 500 ounces frozen already an average an extra 5 ounces of milk a day. I would like to up that up to about 10 ounces a day. Ideas on what I should try? I don't want DS to miss out on milk in the short term while I am upping my supply.
Should I start doing an evening pumping session? I typically get the extra milk from pumping 1 time in the morning on the side DS doesn't eat on during the night.
I could also increase my pumping at work to every 1 1/2 hours but am not sure how that would work for the weekends when I am just with DS. Maybe doing a block feed and then a larger pumping from the other side when I feed him for the second time? I don't want to be stuck pumping a ton on the weekend--2 to 3 times a day would be okay but that's all.
Thoughts?
