First Birthday Gifts?

Thu Apr 04, 2013 11:14 am

What are you planning on getting, or what did you get for your twins for their first birthday? My girls are going to be a year old in about 2.5 months (crazy!) and I don't really have any ideas of what to get them as their "big" gift(s) from DH and I.

We didn't go all out, but we got them a water table to play with outside. I really thought about getting them custom chairs form like pottery barn, but never did. They now have little bean bag chairs. I think I spent so much on the party that I didn't really think too much about a gift. I'm sure whatever you get they will love especially if it's a cardboard box ;) I can't believe they are almost one. Time does fly by.

My twin boys got this for their first birthday and it was a huge hit! All 3 of my children love this toy and I'm sure my younger twins (soon to be 1) will love it just as much. A great toy for the price! ... Id=2265260

my kids also love to slide and swing, so if you have any outdoor space, those are great ideas, I think. though they do have some pretty cute small slides for indoors.

Our boys got these chairs and they LOVE them. They sit in them every single day and it's the cutest thing ever. They take their bottles in them too now that they feed themselves. It says it's a rocker, but we never attached the rockers on the bottle, so they sit flat and are perfectly fine that way. Safer. ... PDKIKX0DER

Here's my favorite pic of them in their chairs. Baby Book Club!!!

Thanks for the ideas ladies!

Robyn, I LOVE those little chairs! I had thought about getting them each a little wooden rocking chair but those can be kind of pricey. Thanks for the suggestion!

Cathy - That toy you posted is pretty cute too! I need to get rid of the exersaucer, jumperoo and walker before I start putting toys like that in my living room though.

We're getting the girls a water table for outside, their first baby dolls (Baby Stella), a couple Melissa & Doug chunky peg puzzles, little stuffed rocking horses (that I got back on Black Friday) and these activity walkers: ... Src=search

DH found them on sale for like $15 each before Christmas so I just HAD to buy them, lol. We might end up giving them to the girls early because they're both standing and walking along things so I don't think walking will be that far off.

The chairs are a really cute idea though! My oldest got one for her first Christmas (a week shy of 1yo) and she sat in it all the time. I don't think I have room for 2 in our living room right now with all their other crap. I'd also thought about getting them a picnic table for outside -- the Little Tikes ones with the umbrellas are super cute.

I think my parents are getting them push cars.

My in-laws got the girls some push cars for Christmas, my parents got them baby dolls and a nice wooden rocking horse so they already have a lot of big stuff to play with.

Heather I can't believe your girls are both standing and walking along things already! Only one of mine is crawling and the other is just starting to get interested in moving.
