BFP with Irregular Cycles

BFP With Irregular Cycles and Late Ovulation

I’m skinny, muscular, age 33. After 15 years on the pill I quit. My period didn’t come back for a year, I was so underweight and over-exercised. As soon as I cut down on fitness and put on a few pounds I had a period twice. Every time the ovulation was very late and the luteal phase did not exceed 10 days. This (third) cycle I also ovulated late, on CD45. We BD’d three days and one day before the O-Day.

O-Day: The usual signs of ovulation: sore bbs, cramps, slippery EWCM and skin breakouts (the latter became a sure signal of the O-day).
1dpo-4 dpo: The usual post-O routine. EWCM showed up for one more day after ovulation, mixed with creamy CM. Cervix is hard. Bbs have gotten less sore. CM has thickened. Slight cramps. Up until 5dpo everything was normal.
5 DPO: Bbs got sore on the sides, very unusual. Bloated, a bit crampy, retain water.
6 DPO: Had sex, though my sexual appetite was gone. Just went through the motions. Cramps and slight shooting pain in bbs. Suddenly sore throat in the evening.
7 DPO: Sore throat is now accompanied with a runny nose and sneezing. Coffee tasted weird! I forced myself to finish it. (This symptom only lasted for two days, thankfully.) I began to get a new sort of cramps, different from pre-AF cramps. My pre-AF cramps have a burning sensation, like an inflammation, a dull, hot, annoying pain. These new cramps are like twitches, short pulls or muscle cramps. From this day on they come and go several times a day. They are not nearly as bothersome as pre-AF cramps. Cervix was hard but has gone high.
8 DPO: Slept poorly because of the congestion. Coffee tasted disgusting again. Another food aversion: cinnamon smelled metallic and I couldn’t stand it. Bbs began to get especially sore at night: every time I get up to pee, they are full and painful to press. (This symptom persisted past the TWW.) I began to notice some heartburn and dizziness every time I blow my nose. Excessive nasal mucus also stayed after the cold was gone and past the TWW.
9 DPO: The cold got worse. I lost my sense of smell, so the coffee tasted neutral. Thought I had a fever but the thermometer reading was lower than what it felt like. Pre-AF cramps should be here by now, but I only got those gentle twitches in the center and in the ovaries area. Couldn’t fall asleep, feeling cold and hot alternatively.
10 DPO: POASed in the morning: BFN; an evap line showed up after 15 minutes. Not bummed out at all! At best, I’ve just had an implantation moment, so it’s early for a positive. At worst, I’m getting a longer luteal phase, because this cycle everything has gone a different way: pre-AF “burning” cramps have not showed up, and the cervix is so high it’s out of reach and even turned away at an angle (like it’s saying, stop poking me). The earlier symptoms just slowly increased through the day (sore bbs, uterine twitches).
11 DPO: POASed: BFP! Coffee tasted normal since. Increased appetite. Everything tastes and smells great. The cold subsided. I eat a lot of spicy and oily food, so constipation is not my problem, but from this day on I notice my stools have gone harder (sorry, TMI!). By the evening the right boob is visibly larger, but the left one is still catching up. I’m so flat that seeing myself with bbs (well, one boob) is shocking. Began to notice a pulling sensation in the navel area when I stretch backward. Cervix remains high and semi-hard.
12 DPO-15 DPO: The symptoms stabilized: sore bbs sides, slight cramps, cervix high, an urge to pee more often comes and goes. From this day on I’m placid and non-confrontational. And quite energized! No devastating fatigue. On the downside, I find it hard to keep my mind on little details, and I lose or forget a couple things every day.

Overall, I didn’t have any fatigue, metal taste in my mouth, morning sickness, veiny bbs, dark nipples, severe cramps, spotting or increased CM. All CM was the same as during my usual post-O time. Of the unusual symptoms that distinguished this cycle was 1) severe soreness on the sides of the bbs; 2) cramps felt different from pre-AF cramps; 3) a couple taste and smell hallucinations that soon went away.

Good luck to to everyone trying!

You Too Can Ovulate on CD30!

Hi All,

I hope I can cheer up some of you who worry about late ovulation or irregular cycles. I conceived my first child on CD28 (confirmed with OPKs), and she is now a happy and healthy 2 year old. This mother's day, I received the amazing news that I am pregnant with #2, conceived on CD30. I used Target Up&Up brand OPKs from CD8-28 with no luck. On CD30, I noticed EWCM and BDed that evening...and here I am! I received my BFP on DPO12 (CD43 or so...it's hard to count that high!) using a digital test. Nothing beats seeing "Pregnant" on Mother's Day. I did not have any notable symptoms, maybe a little pink discharge on DPO9, but I was REALLY looking for it :) I had more symptoms coming off of the pill a few months ago than I do today. Hormones are a tricky thing.

My recommendation to anyone with late ovulation or irregular cycles is to:
1. check with your doctor to make sure you're ovulating
2. assume your eggs are perfectly healthy...not OLD or SPOILED
3. take OPKs past when you think you should until you see the positive one...it may take a while, bear with it
4. trust your instincts.

Baby dust to all! Wish me luck the next 36 weeks...

BFP After 2 BFN HPT and 1 BFN Blood Test!

My period was 6 days late. I was having symptoms that matched up with my usual PMS symptoms - but no AF! I was so frustrated and felt like I was crazy. I peed on two sticks and BFN. I happen to go to my family doctor for an annual allergy medicine refill and I requested a blood test. The next day I got the call with a BFN. I was disappointed, sure, but more confused because STILL no period. Friends and sisters told me to just move on, but I still didn't feel like it was time yet. Yesterday I happened to be at a store and there was a sale on pregnancy tests, so I decided to stock up considering we are 'trying' and it never hurts to have extra. "Just for fun" I took one of the tests - at this point I was 15 days late and no AF but my boobs hurt a little- and BAM. There it was! BFP!!! I took two more tests thinking they were malfunctioning or something- nope! All BFPs!

I want to take this time to encourage all of you and let you know that even if multiple tests come back BFN and you think it's the end of the word- DON'T GIVE UP! Try not to let it get you down! You never know- you could be like me and find that 3 negatives do turn into a big fat positive!!!

BFP After Seven Months!

Hello! This board has kept me sane for the last seven months. This is actually the first month I haven't been hanging on to every story. The reason is, is because last month I was 100% sure I was pregnant and then my period came EIGHT DAYS LATE. There had been a very faint line on two tests (VERY FAINT) so it may have been a miscarriage. Either way, last month was devastating, and I didn't want to get my hopes up again but LO AND BEHOLD!

This is also the first month I haven't been charting my symptoms with ridiculous attention, so my by dpo is a bit loose and basically entirely bb related!
Cd13 - EWCM for the first time since we began TTC (poor ovulation? I'm only 23! Oh well I got my way now :D) bbd all around here
1-9 DPO, nothing at all
9 dpo my boobs are a little sore, which is pretty early in my cycle.
10 DPO okay, my boobs are crazy. It's like someone is holding a lighter under my nipples.
11 DPO nipple erections? Okay this is getting wierd, my nipples are constantly standing out like a half inch which they have never done before.
12 DPO still too scared from last month to test, but not my h cup boobs are spilling forth out of my bra and sitting wierd off to the sides. Usually by this time I m an emotional wreck from Pms but this month I'm just sort of happy and calm.
13 DPO bloating like WOAH, and still monster bbs. I am sure aunt flo is on the way. even get cramps ever few hours, the very gentle kind I expect to turn into a total pain party
14-21DPO waiting, cramps continue every so often and by 21 I'm like HUSBAND JUST LET ME PEE ON A STICK (we had agreed I would wait until my period is a week later than it has ever been, which is a week later than this still). He fetches the stick. I pee on it IMMEDIATLY BAM Test line just as dark as he control. That was last Friday :D still no period, still positive tests. Starting to get a lil tired and nauseous but I love it because it means we are, or at least can have a baby!! When I was seventeen because of a PID I was told I may very well be infertile so this is just freaking awesome.

What we have done different this month (and the month before):
Maca Root
Preseed
way less stress (school is out)
I took vitex last month but stopped this month because I didn't like that it seemed to remove all period symptoms (which would be great if I wasn't TTC)

thanks website, and good luck everyone! I am so excited for all of you when you POS and get your BFPS!!

Just When You Start to Give Up... BFP After Trying For 9 Months

Glory be to God!!!! He is wonderful!!!! Last night I went to the store with DH and decided to pick up a box of HPT's because I hadn't had any pre-menstrual symptoms that I would usually have by now, as this is the week AF would show. By now I would have (TMI): bowel movements, excessive gas, loads of CM, and spotting, but I have NOTHING. I still do not have any pregnancy symptoms yet, but I know I am still quite early.
So when we arrived home, I went straight to the bathroom to take a test, and immediately I could see the line forming. I didn't get too excited because I am still in disbelief. Afterall DH and I have been trying since we were married 9 months ago.

Some things I did this month: I stopped concentrating on timing, didn't stress myself over symptoms, didn't look for signs of anything. All I continued to do was take my temp and record it on Fertility Friend, but even that was done without any care in the world. On the contrary, last month I did everything perfectly. I temp'd/charted using Fertility Friend, BD'd accordingly everyday/every other day, didn't get up immediately after BD'ing, took prenatals, and used OPK's so when I saw AF I was devastated; I went into my office and just cried like a baby. I had a conversation with God, and told Him I couldn't do it anymore for my sanity; He can take the wheel. It was then that I decided I had to take a step back, but before doing that I scheduled 1 last appt with my OBGYN in early April to have her answer any questions that I had. My OB began to explain our next steps. She suggested that DH go for a semen analysis, scheduling me for a HSG, taking Clomid and also having blood drawn to test for thyroid and diabetes. She even began to discuss IUI and IVF. Everything was set until we realized that our insurance did not cover the semen analysis nor HSG so we decided to put DH's testing as well as my HSG on hold for the next month because it is very pricey and we needed to come up with a plan. At this point, DH and I told one another that "if it happens, it happens."

Just yesterday, I received a phone call from my OBGYN that my blood results came back great, No thyroid issues, No diabetes. Needless to say that eased my mind. It doesn't look like we will need that semen analysis nor HSG because we did it! We got our BFP! Ladies, sometimes we have to take a step back and allow God to work His miracles. The thought of not being able to control everything was something that took me a long time to accept. I stayed prayerful despite all the disappointments each month, and I seriously let go and let God. I will be back with a picture of my BFP later. Good luck to everyone. You will be in my prayers!!!!!! :)

A BFP Today!

Hi,

I have been hounding this website from the day one of my period (April 12) and today I got a faint bfp on a very sensitive test. I used soy isofalvones from day 2 to day 7 of my cycle. I took 100, 100, 100, 150, 150 each night before sleeping (no side effects to report). The only reason that I used it, was because my cycle was totally out of whack crazy long since I started working out with a trainer almost everyday. My average cycle length since December has been 40-45 days from a very regular 26 days on the spot kind of thing. So I gathered that my ovulation needed a kick in the butt. We started trying this month, I am 36 and have a 7 year old as well.

For symptoms:
I had strong symptoms all through this cycle and I thought it could be because of extra surge of estrogen in my system, my boobs have been sore and getting bigger every day after ovulation and that could have been a result of more progestrone in response to SI as my body started making more after being lazy for a bit. I had crazy dreams, like seriously crazy dreams. I have been a bit tired but nothing alarming. One other thing that was a flag for me was that I got so annoyed with noise at a dinner and felt a special dislike for my DH's mothers sceaching voice coupled with another person shouting. Splitting headache and wanted a cheese burger from McDonalds on the way home. Bloated, gassy like there is no tomorrow. Had a dream last night about getting period soon coupled with ghosts boiling and beheading people(it has been fun, I can write a book about zrazy dreams). I have been very hungry, I wanted Thai express every day and I wanted real food with starch and meat- no sandwiches.
No tubercles, although I examined them every 5 hours (thanks to this website).
No excessive pain in the breast, just soreness but quite early this cycle.
Nausea but nothing spectacular
All the sysmptoms of pms
Pain the right hip today.
NO implalantation bleeding

BFP With Mild Symptoms

We have a four year old daughter who has been asking for a baby sister or brother constantly. I am so excited to share the news with her. I was 6 weeks along before I found out with her, so I can't remember the very early symptoms with her.
I just found out today! My cycle is not regular, so I wouldn't know the days past ovulation, but it has been 4 weeks and 2 days since my last period. I have a few mild symptoms that I wouldn't have even noticed if I wasn't looking for symptoms.
We just tried to BD every other day the whole month-I figured that should cover it. (No OPK's or bbt)
What must have been around implantation time I experienced:
- Mild nausea
- Bbs were sore which never happens this time of the month for me (They stopped hurting after a week, which is when they usually start hurting, if at all). They did feel fuller to me.
- Had a crazy dream that I was craving cigarettes.... I have never smoked! I almost went out and bought a pack of Marlboros!
Around the four week mark:
- I started to have heartburn that woke me up one night. I had horrible heartburn with my daughter, so that made me think that this could be it! I do get heartburn randomly, so I didn't look too into it.
- My varicose veins started to get worse
- My back was killing me this morning. I could hardly walk, and the pain moved around my back throughout the day. That was odd.
- I was more thirsty than normal and peed more, but wasn't TOO crazy for me
- I am NOT hungry at all! In fact, I haven't been hungry for about a week! I feel like I am constantly full, like I just ate! This is opposite from my last pregnancy. Very weird
- Mild cramps, vary from side to side. Stomach feels a little "funny" - Maybe this is the butterfly feeling I hear about....or maybe I was just really nervous to take that pregnancy test.
- I usually spot on day 28 of my cycle, then don't full on start for days later. I had absolutely NO spotting this time! That was the main clue that I may be pregnant! I looked for IB, and had nothing at all!!

I kept thinking that I wouldn't get pregnant since it wasn't happening easily like with our daughter.
For those who are stressing about this- I WAS TOO! I was stressed the entire month (Actually four months) about this, and my husband is looking for a job at the moment so it CAN happen even if you are stressed.....not that I recommend that of course! It's hard not to stress out when you want a baby more than anything in the world. Good luck to everyone!

WE GOT IT!!! BFP!

Hello Ladies,
I came here nearly everyday for so long and was so grateful for the women who shared. We recieved our BFP on April 28th, but I waited until it was confirmed with a blood test before posting here. When I saw the lines, I didn't believe it and tested again to be sure, then I cried and thanked God. Oh, and told the hubby!
Our story: Hubby is fine, he started out with lower morphology but we were able to turn that around with the fertility life vitamin, no alcohol, and he stopped training for his triathlon. I, have PCOS, Endometriosis, recently had 5 polyps removed, and was anovulatory. Also have a tilted cervix. Before this round I lost 20 lbs. We did two separate 5day clomid doses (stair stepping) followed by a trigger shot and IUI. (two beautiful follies)
1-5 dpo: Nothing special and what symptoms I did have were clomid and trigger shot related. (swollen ovaries)
6-8 dpo: Slight breast tenderness, mild/occasional cramps, and tmi mild diarrhea
9-12 dpo: Extreme fatigue (going to sleep at 7 after having fallen aslepp in the middle of the afternoon), breast tenderness more severe, and mild cramping
13 dpo: Thick creamy cm with a pick tint, breasts, fatigue, and cramping still
14 dpo: Woke Up dizzy, other symptoms continued.
BFP!
Sticky dust to all of you.
I hope you get your BFP soon!
