BFP with PCOS after HSG

It all started when I stopped birth control in December 2016 and didn't get my period for 3 months. So I made an obgyn appointment in February 2017 and was diagnosed with pcos. I was very scared and sad to hear the news as I learned that getting pregnant will now be a more difficult journey and I am 28 years old so I wanted to get things rolling asap. I began by trying the holistic route and going to fertility acupuncture treatments once a week and making the famous pcos smoothie every morning. After 2 months of this I decided I want to start clomid as my obgyn recommend. So in April 2017 I sarted first round of clomid 50mg and of course no ovulation. Took progesterone to get period. Next month started 100mg and did ovulate! I never detected the ovulation on kit at home but ultrasound showed 2 large follicles. But still didn't get pregnant. Next 2 months tried 100mg again and ovulated every time but it didn't work... So my obgyn sent me to an RE. The RE said I need to get a lot of testing done before she can suggest a form of treatment, which would have been the letrazole. So I did a lot of blood work, my husband got tested, and everything came back normal. The next step was the HSG and saline tests. So I scheduled the tests for September 2017. The HSG was painful but very quick whereas the saline test was worst in my opinion! Longer and more painful. Anyways, both ca,e back normal. So the RE said I need to wait fo my period to start so we can start the letrazole and HCG injection treatment. So I waited for my period to come and it never did which is normal for me, so I decided to take progesterone as I had some left from last time. After I took the progesterone for 10 days I still didn't get a period but I had period like cramps. So I decided to take a pregnancy test... BFP!!! I immediately called my husband into the bathroom and we were both in shock! I started crying and pacing because we weren't even trying that month! Of course all the months we tried to conceive like clock work, and it didn't work, but the moment we didn't try at all we get a BFP!! So I just wanted to tell all you pcos ladies out there, don't lose hope! It can happen even without any medication! I'm so happy and beyond excited to have my baby! Good luck to all of you! Kick pcos butt! :-)

Faint BFP at 12 DPO!!

At the age of 37 I am TTC #2 with DH. We currently have a 19 month old son. This board has helped me get through the TWW many many times so i hope my story can help someone else. I am a plus size woman who for years struggled with amenorrhea with no underlying cause. I would go months without a period. On top of that DH struggles with ED. To achieve pregnancy with DS we used the at home insemination process, i tracked my cycle using Fertility Friend and OPK’s. We got pregnant the second cycle. The second time we TTC (Baby #2) we again got pregnant right away using the same method and i suffered a MC one week after getting my BFP. During this time i was nursing DS. My aunt and GYN advised me to stop nursing and they guaranteed that my cycles would regulate itself and I’d get pregnant. I weaned my son by August and my cycle became a regular 35-day cycle. Again, using the same method (OPK’s, at-home insemination, and tracking BBT on Fertility Friend. I got BFN’s for Sept, Oct, and Nov. I got a false BFP with a Walmart cheapie in October. So, here’s what you’ve been waiting for: (+ OPK at Cycle Day 21 (Temp 97.7)....Ovulation Cycle Day 22 Temp again is 97.5) 1 DPO - Nothing (temp 97.5) 2 DPO - Nothing (Inseminated one more time for good measure. We inseminated every other day 5 days leading up to expected ovulation) (Temp 97.7) 3 DPO - Temp spike to 98.2 (I’m usually around 97.5), headache and nausea 4 DPO - Nothing (temp still at 98.2) 5 DPO - Backache, tender breast, nausea and mild cramps (Temp 98.1 Ovulation confirmed two days after +OPK which was a bit off) 6 DPO - Nausea, I got a pimple which i rarely get and I didn’t sleep well that night (Temp dipped to 97.7 possible implantation dip or temp off due to poor sleep) 7 DPO - Cramps, diarrhea, tender breast and I felt a throbbing pain in my vagina in the afternoon (Temp spike to 98.3) 8 DPO - Nausea (Temp 98.0) 9DPO - Nothing (Temp dips to 97.9 and FF no longer have the data to support Ovulation based on my temps. I changed the setting to go by my +OPK instead of my temps because I’m confident that I ovulated. If I don’t get my period or get BFN i know that my cycle is changing....we’ll see) 10 DPO - I woke up with a terrible headache, heartburn and nausea (Temp 97.8) 11 DPO - Heartburn, tender breasts and nausea continues and I also have this terrible pain on both sides and my back. I’m not sure what’s causing this. It feels like I’ve been working out which i did not (Temp 97.9) 12 DPO - My period is expected today (i have a short leutal phase) and I’m praying that my temp doesn’t drop because of it does i know for sure AF is on her way (Temp stays at 97.9. I feel fatigue, pain in my thighs, tender breast, cramps, vagingal throbbing and nausea. I want to test but i cannot take another month of a BFN. Before coming home after work i break down and by a 2pk FRER. I take it as soon as i get home and just like that i get a faint BFP very quickly. I didn’t even have to squint to see it. I’m calling my OBGYN in the am to schedule my scan and I’ll take the second test in the am to see if the line gets darker. I’m excited and so scared at the same time. This is the best Christmas gift EVER! I hope this helps one of you ladies. I’m praying that my little bean stays put for the next 36.5 weeks. Good luck and God bless.

Finally after SO MANY SYMPTOMS

I knew I was pregnant a week before I got my BFP. My husband didn't believe me, but I knew. I've not been tracking my ovulation, cause my cycle ranges from 27-35 days. I just BDed a lot, as much as we could. I got a raging UTI in the middle of what I thought was my fertile week, and the BDing stopped. I thought I was out for this month. Then, after my UTI, came the growing and tender BBs, the teenager acne, the heightened sense of smell, metal mouth, vivid dreams EVERY NIGHT ALL NIGHT, extreme bloating (worse than pms), and a strange lack of cramps. I usually get them the two weeks before af, but not a twinge. I also got nauseated when I was reading stories on here that said... *shudder*... "Creamy CM." That didn't happen before. I took one or two negative tests, the waited the weekend and took a couple more tests. VERY faint line positive, and that didn't convince DH. I took one the next morning and that one did convince him! I'm 5 weeks. I took the test last week. Yay!!

BFP at 11 DPO (2nd baby) -- barely any symptoms this time

I have an 11 month old. Been ttc #2 for 4 cycles. I've never had a normal cycle - it'd come every 2 months or so. I was lucky when I got pregnant last year because it was the first try. But after I stopped breastfeeding at 6 months, my cycles were JACKED UP. Cycles lasted 52 days, then 34 days, then this one is supposed to be 30 days... but now I'm pregnant! First pregnancy I had nausea once, tender boobs, going to the restroom a lot - and these were symptoms BEFORE my BFP. This time, nothing except implantation pinch and spotting. Every pregnancy IS different!! Ovulation: Heavy thick EWCM, brief vaginal soreness / throbbing, 2 BMs in the morning, feel bloated, positive OPK 1 DPO: Medium chunky creamy CM, big blob of thick CM (rubbery) 2 DPO: Heavy creamy CM 3 DPO: Medium watery low stretchiness with whitish creamy chunks CM 4 DPO: Light creamy CM, light uterine pinching 5 DPO: Light creamy / watery CM, 2 BMs in the morning 6 DPO: Light watery CM, almost cramp-like twitches, FELT A QUICK SUDDEN VERY SHARP PINCH at 10:10 pm (suspected implantation) 7 DPO: IMPLANTATION DIP, light creamy CM, sharp pubic pinches 8 DPO: Light watery CM 9 DPO: Pink spotting once when wiping, light creamy CM 10 DPO: Feel warm when woke up in the morning, light creamy CM, 2 BMs, very gassy that night 11 DPO: Felt hot when woke up in the morning, (temp spiked so took an $0.88 Walmart test and it was POSITIVE), 2 BMs in the morning (nervous feeling in the stomach with 2nd BM), feel bloated, very sleepy 12 DPO: Constantly kept waking up in the middle of the night and had to pee, tired and sleepy 13 DPO: kept waking up at night, had to get up and pee, had a nightmare, very hungry 14 DPO: hot at night, insomnia, had a nightmare, OFFICIALLY MISSED PERIOD

Viva Mexico BFP

So this is my first time posting one of these, and I'm still in shock of the fact that I am. First a disclaimer: I know, as a woman who had been hoping for a child previously, addicted to symptom spotting and POAS, that we look for hope in the smallest signs. All I can say, is that EVERYONE is different, and it is hard to judge if you are pregnant or not before the time comes- all you can really do is wait. Do not lie to yourself about symptoms, because that only makes it harder! If you look for symptoms, oftentimes they will come. And a little bit about my background... I am just about to turn 20, from BC Canada. It currently living in Mexico with my 27 year old fiance. We have been together for almost a year, and have not been trying/not exactly preventing. When I was 16 & 17 I was in an abusive relationship and ended up miscarrying at 5 weeks post LMP (horrible to say but I am glad, as my life wouldn't be the same, it wasn't the time). After the miscarriage my hormone started going wonky, my periods would be from 28 to 41 days, and ended up with hyperthyroid then low progesterone, and was then put on bioidentical progesterone cream treament. That affected my mood greatly so I only stuck with it for 2 or 3 months before stopping. Also, I have iron deficient and macrocytic (folate) deficient anaemia due to allergies and food sensitivities. I thought that it would be very difficult for me to conceive but here I am now... I'm not 100% sure on my day of ovulation but I believe that it was on cycle day 13. After the progesterone my cycles have been 27 days long. I started getting that "feeling" around 9 days post possible ovulation so I think that is when I started implantation. I didn't have any bleeding, just cramping that was like the twinges that everyone talks about. Honestly I thought that I was going to get my period! There were a few different things that definitely made me think about being pregnant but I didn't think it would actually happen. The only thing that made me think that I was pregnant was that normally I start PMSing 8 days before my period on the dot- no matter how long my cycle is, but this cycle I started PMSing three days earlier. There wasn't much different than the usual PMS- my boobs started to swell and get heavy I was incredibly ravenously hungry, bloated and I was just having mood swings. The only differences were that I was incredibly horny- like crazy and my CM was super thick and snotty or abundantly yellow/white cream. I was also sick for about a week around implantation time. Oddly enough my PMS like symptoms stopped 2 days before my expected period, and that's when I knew something was up. I got a negative HPT on cycle days 24 and 26. On the 27th I started getting nauseaus, my favorite cheese smelt and tasted moldy (was fresh- Mexican cheese is the best), normally crazy for seafood but I couldn't stand the thought of it, plus I could live off of orange juice- it's all I crave. Yesterday, CD28 (approx. 14 DPO), I woke up and peed 2 times between 2 and 7 am and thought nothing of it. My fiance went and brought me HPTs because there was NO sign of af- large amounts of creamy white CM in its place. I told myself I was going to wait but I had a feeling I needed to POAS- so I did!! At 2 pm I got an instant dark positive, and didn't believe it. Waited a few more hours and it still was hard to absorb so I took another test (1 pee later and 2 L of OJ) which resulted in a faint positive. Something to note, as I realize this gets a lot of women- a MAJORITY of women don't test positive until after their missed period or 14 DPO.. it's normal and if you test positive previously you're a lucky odd duck. I hope this post brings solace to those that need it in their 2WW, but hold out and don't get discouraged by false tests and symptoms, but also don't give in to false hope- the fall is a lot harder that way :(

Hypothyroidism, irr cycles & PCOS - 1st BFP ever on 1st Letrozole cycle!!!!!

Hello ladies, Here is my BABY DANCE STORY: I am almost 35 years old and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was 26. I was on BC from 15 to 33 years of age. As a teenager, I thought I had 14 day cycles, bleeding 1 week out of 2. My 32 year old BF and I have been TTC for a year now. After going off BC, my cycles were long, then I would bleed for a week, then off a week, then bleed for another week... Confusing and discouraging!!! After seeing a fertility doctor who ran tests on both of us, I have an obvious case of PCOS. I am athletic, thin and have always been very active. I actually had 45-90 day cycles, sometimes ovulating, sometimes bleeding instead of ovulating around CD14 until CD21... Then nothing for weeks!!! Luckily, BF has a very good sperm count. I have a good ovarian reserve and no hormonal abnormalities other than my thyroid that has been stable with 50mg of Synthroid daily since my diagnosis 9 years ago. My BF and I are little bunny rabbits so I asked my doctor if we should BD less often, like every 2 days... His reply was, "As often as you want!!" Lol!! Maybe knowing my BFs sperm count was promising, those were the doctor's orders!! So he sent me off with Provera to induce a period after a 35 day cycle and Letrozole 5mg for CDs 3-7 of my cycle... BAM!!!!! BFP 1st cycle!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) CD3-CD7: Letrozole CD14-CD21: No ovulation. I was sure it wasn't going to work this 1st cycle. However, I didn't bleed as I often do when I don't ovulate so I forget about the entire thing, wanting to live in the moment as we take off on vacation. CD23: SURPRISE: OVULATION!!! I haven't ovulated 10 times in my entire life so ovulation is definitely noticeable for me because it is very painful. I know I ovulated from my left ovary. 4DPO: Fatigue, sore breasts, little constipation over the next few days. These are normal luteal phase symptoms for me. Again, I haven't had many luteal phases so I notice the symptoms easily. 8DPO: Sharp stabbing, like one mediocre stab followed by 2 other small stabs on the left side of my abdomen, same place those 3 times, under 5 minutes total duration. 9DPO: I'm sure I won't get pregnant this 1st round but I have a doctor's appointment to renew my thyroid meds so just to be sure I'm not pregnant, I take an HPT with FRER using FMU: BFN. 10DPO: Still tired, sore breasts and occasional constipation but it's all still normal at this stage. However, I wake up with a mild headache at the back of my head, top of the neck, a lot like the very 1st time I ovulated after using BC for 18 years. The headache is mild as it comes and goes throughout the day. Midday, I get dizzy while shopping. This is not usual for me but I hate shopping so I figure I'm just very exhausted. 11DPO: I have AF like cramps. I get AF cramps about 24-36 hours before it starts, so this is about 2-3 days too soon. As the day progresses, these cramps are always there, consistent in mildness but I realize they're not exactly like AF. They're rounder, less aggressive and are constant. AF cramps for me feel tight, they vary in intensity as they come and go. These cramps have been here all day and instead of feeling tight, they feel wide. It's difficult to describe, sorry. 12DPO: We plan on going to the spa today, one of our last days on vacation. Once again, as a precaution, I take an HPT with FRER using FMU. I'm sure it's going to be negative because I can't be lucky enough to get a BFP on my 1st cycle on Letrozole... I'm a "dipper", not big on POAS. As I'm dipping, I'm telling myself, "Just be happy the meds got you ovulating. Be patient, this BFN is part of the process. You'll have a great time at the spa today..." *****BFP***** OMG!!! It's POSITIVE!!! IT'S POSITIVE!!! It's faint, but definitely there!!! I can't believe it!!! I've never seen one in my hand!!! THIS IS IT!!!!! Later that day, I feel dizzy again midday. I end up taking a nap in the afternoon, just too tired. BABY DUST to all and especially, DON'T EXPECT A BFP.... Have fun!!! Try to see this as a BABY DANCE, not a BABY JOURNEY. XXX

Low ovarian reserve, 5 failed ivf cycles aged 39 - BFP success with DHEA and ubiquinol

Posting this to give hope to others with a low ovarian reserve, hoping to get pregnant. It was here i discovered the possibilities of combining DHEA and ubiquinol after 5 failed ivf cycles. A year after i had my son (a natural conception) i was diagnosed as having a very low ovarian reserve at 38. I had the egg count of a 45 year old and my mother had gone through menapause at 43. I needed some help getting pregnant again. I started short cycles of ivf. First cycle was cancelled as i just grew one big folly. Gutting. 2nd cycle was filled with hope, 4 eggs retrieved and 2 beautiful blastocysts. I lost them both at 10 weeks and 8 weeks. It was as if they just ran out of energy and stopped growing. Even more gutting was that the 2nd blastocyst was tested for genetic issues and we'd been told it was a 95% perfect egg. This one didnt even grow into a fetal pole. 2 more cycles came and went one cancelled again and another we couldnt even start as my hormones never baselined. Then someone told me about improving egg quality through various ways. One was to take hormone supplements. My doctor suggested we try DHEA - 25 mg 3 xdaily. I did some more research and found a post here by a lady who got pregnant naturally at 43 with all sorts of homonal issues and swore by a combination of DHEA and ubiquinol. So i started taking ubiquinol too - 600mg first in the gel capsule form and then in liquid form as i was told you absorb more through the membranes of your mouth with the liquid spray than when you ingest it. I also gave up alcohol nearly altogether even tho id been told a glass every other day would be ok, as i read that any more than 4 units of alcohol a week reduces your chances of conception and implantation. Really hard for me as i love booze and it helped a lot with the stress of it all. Id been told that to see the results we'd need to wait 3 months for the DHEA to take effect. Of course i went head anyway with another cycle as by now i was 39 and was desperate. Plus the ivf clinics reckon its just a numbers game. They retrieved 6 eggs and we got 1 blastocyst using the long ivf cycle. Not nearly as good quality as the first 2 that i lost. It didnt even implant. Totally gutted. The 7th cycle was my last go as far as i was concerned IVF had impacted my life in everyway possible - from how i felt about my body to my relationshio with my partner and son, as well as stalling my career and quite frankly i was depressed and over it. By now i was 4 months into DHEA and ubiquinol, i had experienced heart flutters early on but it passed as my body got used to it all, by the 3rd month i realised i had much darker thicker facial hair and on my feet! But that nothing a few creams didnt sort out. They collected 4 eggs and we got 2 blastocysts - and in their opinion not as good quality as the 2 id lost. So we just went ahead with a fresh transfer and froze the other one. I wasnt hopeful. Well blow me down BFP result, stong growth and heart beat at 7 weeks, another at 10 weeks and a beautiful scan at 12 weeks showing everything was healthy and normal. Im now 25 weeks pregnant today, its a girl and we feel truely blessed. Im convinced it was the DHEA and ubiquinol combo and opting out of alcohol. And by the way as soon as i stopped taking DHEA and ubiquinol all the dark thick hair fell out and im back to normal. Good luck to you all. This worked for me, i hope it does for anyone out there in a similar position. Im not a doctor so please dont take this advice as professional. Just sharing my story in the hope of giving hope to others.
