BFP Stories

Early Pregnancy Symptoms and Big Fat Positives

BFP by DPO

The BFP by DPO is hands down my favorite kind of BFP story. It unfolds slowly, like a tulip in the spring - a new symptom appearing with each passing day… constipation on Tuesday, tingling boobs on Wednesday…. Ah, the poetry of it all!

We’d love for you to send – nay, we simply MUST HAVE – your BFP by DPO story, assuming you were detail-oriented (nice euphemism, huh?) enough to record your symptoms on a daily basis.

So all you BFP by DPO’ers – we want to hear from you! Send us your story, blow by blow, through this contact form.

BFP at 16 dpo

Hey all, I am happy to post about my BFP to give some hope to those who are still in their TWW. 1 dpo -12 dpo I had zero symptoms! Nothing at all! I was a little more hungry than usual, but this is normal anyways before AF. NO sore bb’s! No sensitivity to smells! No morning sickness or whatsoever! 13 dpo- I felt AF- like cramps and felt like AF will kick soon! 14 dpo- a little more cramps and bloating but still no AF. 15 dpo- mild cramps the whole afternoon but with no AF! 16 dpo- tested in the AM and got my BFP! Oh God! So I think no symptoms is a good symptom! hope you will get your bfp this cycle too. baby dust to you all ❤️

Through God All Things Are Possible

I've been part of this ttc community since 2013, and I am so excited to say that after 5.5 years and $20k that this ttc veteran is graduating! I used to think BFP stories like mine were super scary. I would scroll through and think "wow, I can't imagine waiting years for a bfp" and "no way that'll be me". I think most long term ttcers agree that we all felt that way until one day we looked up and realized it *was* us. It happens slowly and somehow all at once. So if you're reading this, whether you're brand new to trying or you've already crossed into infertility territory, please know that the journey is not so scary. At times very hard and harrowing, but nothing you can't handle... one day at a time! Anyway, here's the short version of what these past few years entailed: We were up against borderline low motility with no other known issues. We proceeded more slowly than many couples do, mostly because (in case you didn't already know) this shizz is expensive, lol. We did 3 unsuccessful IUIs before taking a break and switching to a clinic with much more personalized care. We did a mini (minimal stimulation) ivf in 2017 with a "freeze all" protocol and had our first transfer in Feb 2018 with two great embryos that didn't take. That let us with one, and perhaps they saved the best for last because the late November transfer was the miracle we'd been waiting for. I'm pregnant! It still sounds so surreal. My beta HCG numbers are within range and rising appropriately. We are still deep in prayer that this little one stays healthy and strong, but I have done by best to lay my worries at God's feet and let them go. Don't worry, I won't deny you the symptoms! Two days after our 3-day transfer (5dpo equivalent) I had really terrible period like cramps on and off for a few hours. By four days past transfer (7dpo equivalent) I was running hot and just not feeling great. This went on for a few days. I can't say it's nausea so much as just feeling gross all of the sudden, and I was more prone to an indigestion feeling after I ate, which is a symptom that has continued and worsened. By 6dpt (9dpo), my bbs were getting tender. Bbs are such a tricky symptom, and mine usually get sore around 9dpo so I didn't think much of it. But they stayed sore, which was unusual. I took all of these "symptoms" with a grain of salt, but looking back they paint a clear bfp picture to me. I also had a very calm and serene feeling for much of the tww that maybe it had worked. During my meditation practice I felt very grounded and nurturing and connected to our embryo, like I was Mother Earth and this little seed had taken root and sprouted within me. Sounds nutty but hey -- the beta came back pregnant! :D I love every symptom though. Indigestion? Yay! Hot flashes? Bring em on! Sore bbs? The sorer the merrier! Side effects of being long-term ttc I guess. Anyway, that's my story. This community offered me so much support and wisdom over the years, and I'm so grateful. I'm humbled by what these past years have taught me and I can't wait to take those lessons in faith, patience, and perseverance with me as I move forward. You're all in my prayers. If you're reading this and wondering if it could be you, YES, it could be you. Through God all things are possible. Take a breath and know that you can't be anywhere other than exactly where you are right now. Relax. All is coming. Faith, trust, and baby dust, Spazzle

BFP 8dpo!

I’m so excited to finally get to post my BFP story. I’ve watched this site for a while and I love reading everyone’s stories. First let me say that this was our second cycle trying to conceive and here is a list of things I did differently. 1.Took prenatal vitamins! 2.Used Ovulation test. 3.Less caffeine 4. Tried not to stress! 5.Legs up after sex. I personally think the ovulation test and prenatals are what helped us this cycle. I believe I had a chemical last month I had a vvfl and slowly but surely it got lighter and then AF came. So I’m very excited about this! Now to the good part my list of symptoms! CD 17: positive opk! Did the baby dance! CD 18: peak opk! (Crampy, threw up, feeling weak) CD19: O day! Did the baby dance (feeling better, slight cramps could be from gas) CD20:1dpo ( creamy lotion cm, tired (could be unrelated) felt a few “pinches” CD21: 2dpo (Feeling normal) lots of cm CD22:3dpo (Feeling normal) left ovary pain. CD23:4dpo (feeling normal) CD24:5dpo(feeling normal) CD25:6dpo(feeling normal, gassy, went to bed early) CD26:7dpo(feeling normal, slept so much today) CD27:8dpo( Feeling normal, slight cramping in back, BFP?!, lots of CM) CD28 ( Feeling normal, more pinching and pulling in my lower abdomen, took another test definitely a BFP!!! I don’t have any “real” symptoms yet. I didn’t get symptoms with my son until I was over 6 weeks so I’m not worried. My line is way darker than last month with my chemical. I will continue to test to watch my line progression. Praying for a sticky bean! My AF is due in 5 days praying she never comes! Good luck ladies! Baby dust to everyone.

TTC#1 Took 12 tests before I thought it was real!

OD: CD 15 using OPK to confirm. BD: CD 11, 13, 14 (with preseed inserted), and 15. I have been taking prenatal vitamins for 6 months and this month I tried to wait at least 10 minutes after sex before getting up. I am 34 years old, a healthy weight, and I did not stop drinking until BFP. This was the first month that I didn't chart my temp. I was getting discouraged. We have been trying for 6 months, but a few of those were missed opportunities because my husband is a FF and not home much in the summer. No major symptoms. I did feel like a strange urge to clean the last couple of days, which isn't like me...I also was asleep by 8:30pm each night, but I didn't think too much of it since I had been getting up early all week. Also, did have some blood in my nose a few days. I thought it could just be from dry weather. //DPO 4 / CD19// Weird brownish CM. I felt like I have had this before during my TWW, so I didn't think too much of it. Also, this would have been way to early for implantation. //DPO 9 / CD24// Couldn't fight the urge to POAS. Used an internet cheapie. BFN. //DP0 10 / CD25// Decided to keep the POAS train going. Used an internet cheapie. I saw a shadow. That's the only way to describe it, because it wasn't a line. It made me understand all the women on those boards that are posting pics asking for help in looking at a test because I felt crazy. I tried to ignore it, but I couldn't. I fished out of the trash the test from DPO 9 to compare. Definitely a shadow. I somehow had a little pee left so I peed in a cup again. Did another internet cheapie...shadow. I am not crazy! I searched in the bathroom drawer for that one clear blue (not digital) that I had been saving for CD29...I dipped it in the same cup. Definite faint line! I couldn't help myself and tested a good around mid day. I held my bladder for a little over 3.5 hours and tried a Clear Blue Digital and BFN. //DPO 11 / CD26// Today my internet cheapie is a faint line. Slight morning sickness today. //DPO 12 / CD27// Today I got a "Pregnant" on a Clear Blue Digital. I also did my internet cheapie and it was about the same strength of line as yesterday. //DPO 13 / CD 29// Tested on my last Clear Blue Digital in the AM...Still pregnant. I did an internet cheapie in the PM and it was darker than the AM test yesterday. //DPO 14 / CD 30// Today my internet cheapie was finally almost as dark as the control line. ::Sigh of relief:: I am done POAS...for now! I decided to keep in my DPOs 11-14 because I began to freak out that this was a chemical pregnancy. The pregnancy boards can be a scary place when you are feeling unsure. I hope this will help someone else to not worry and know that a faint line is not a bad thing!! I guess the worry will continue now for a million other reasons, but I am definitely pregnant!!

BFP by DPO! 13DPO

After trawling the internet and reading 2ww success stories I’m so happy to share mine again! This is my 3rd pregnancy after TTC for approx 4 months. AF has only returned for 5 months as I’m still breastfeeding my 22mo DD. 1dpo: nothing 2-6dpo: fuller boobs and sensitive nipples (this symptom remains during the entire 2ww). 7dpo: frequent urination, tired, stretchy yellow white discharge like before AF usually, light cramps in evening :( at 10pm had a painful pinching in uterus for about 2 min - felt strange. 8dpo: Woke up with light cramps, moody. 9dpo: Cramps in AM, feels like AF coming. Little yellow white discharge. No cramps in day and PM. Gassy at night. 10dpo: Only light cramps in the morning. Constipation at night. Nausea and very tired during day. Heartburn after dinner. 11dpo: Constipation. Very tired. 12dpo: Weird sharp pain right side uterus for about a minute. 13dpo: Light cramps in morning. Elevated body temp: Shooting pains in nipples. So tired and irritable by 1pm. BFP at 1.30pm!!

My Rainbow Baby♥️

Okay so a little background info is that I got pregnant accidentally in March of this year and miscarried in May, fast forward to September and we decide to start trying and only used opks that month, it ended in af showing up and so this month we tried; preseed, geritol, temping, opks, and I took a biotin pill everyday Cd 14- I got my positive opk Cd15- temp dip (ovulation) along with some very mild cramping 1dpo- runny nose, specific cramping in my right ovary that lasted hours, and my boobs were sore and that NEVER happens this early, more like 6-7 dpo until I start 2dpo- still stuffy, sore boobs, and still right ovary pain 3dpo- tired, sore boobs, temp rise (confirming ovulation), still stuffy nose 4dpo- exact same as 3dpo 5dpo- super gassy, sore boobs, lotiony cm (and usually it’s pretty dry right about now), SICK! Eyes watering all day, nose like a waterfall, sneezing uncontrollably, and pretty tired 6dpo- it was like yesterday didn’t happen, just a bit of sniffles but that was it!, sore boobs, backache at night, and a temp dip 7dpo- heavy creamy cm, very slight nausea at night, cramping uterus, sore boobs 8dpo- BFN!!! and at this point I’d been having super vivid dreams each night but brushed it off, cramping, sore boobs 9dpo- BFN!!! Ccm, sore boobs, vivid dream, bloated 10dpo- BFN!!! Sore boobs and not much else 11dpo-BFN!!! So I thought I was out and went ahead and had a few drinks this night, extremely hungry, should have known something was up when the alcohol tasted weird, sore boobs 12dpo- SUPER SUPER faint on a test, like literally it was invisible, took 5 and they all looked the same, sore boobs, super calm (and usually now is when I would be a cranky b**ch) still super hungry, cramping 13dpo- darker but still faint BFP!!!- happier than normal, no breakouts, sore boobs, thirsty, and hungry 14dpo- BFP!!!! I can definitely feel myself sleepier than normal, hungry all the time, and more thirsty for no reason (well I guess I do know!!!) I totally thought I was out when I didn’t get a positive until 12 dpo and really questioned if I was pregnant or it was a chemical. But I trust my body to do what’s right and I’m just super excited Rainbow baby due JULY 10TH, 2019!!!!!

18 cycles after a miscarriage & finally my BFP!

Wow, I am actually getting to post my BFP story after reading every post on this site religiously for the last 18 months! I'm 34, my husband and I were trying to conceive our first for 18 months after suffering a miscarriage (we weren't even trying when we got pregnant then!). During the last few failed cycles, it was hard not to breakdown whenever I got AF. I stopped testing early because the sight of a BFN is possibly the worst thing to see in the world when TTC. We were already discussing the possibility of IVF and were both becoming really down about it. I have tried every single thing possible I think! These were the things that were different during this cycle. We BD'd every OTHER day instead of every single day during fertile week. Afterwards, pillow under bum and legs in the air for at least 30 mins - (to be fair I actually did this for the last 4 cycles but couldn't hurt right?). Started taking FertileCM as I usually get creamy cm and only one mornings worth of EWCM usually 3 days before O day. It did the trick after 1.5 cycles and I had EWCM for the whole of fertile week. I had tried Preseed before and it never worked for me. Started taking DHEA at the same time as FertileCM as I read it improves egg quality, and being near the 35 mark, thought it may help. Throughout the 18 cycles I took pregnacare and extra folic acid. Honestly the amount of pills I was on over the last two months made me cry at the sight of them. This month, we went out (and drank!), swam, walked and really relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. I stopped worrying about stretching, exercising etc in the TWW, but was careful not to lift anything heavy. I read that if the eggs gonna stick, there's not a lot you can do to stop it from doing so, so I stopped being so paranoid about every little thing. I was still totally symptom watching and aware. Symptoms: 1-11 DPO - nothing out of the ordinary - lack of CM. 12 DPO - AF Cramps most of the day - was sure I was out and text my bestie to tell her I expect AF right on time (13/14dpo). Boobs did start to hurt, which is slightly unusual as usually they hurt from 8/9-11/12 DPO then stop a day or two before AF. 13/14 DPO - No cramps anymore, no CM (I always get pink tinged CM a day or two before AF) and my boobs still hurt. Also got heartburn. 15 DPO - OMG I'm a day late. I have heartburn sometimes and my boobs STILL hurt. I'm tired in the day but feel super happy. 16DPO - OMG I'm 2 days late!! With dread I tested. Convinced it was going to be a BFN. Within 2 minutes it was a clear BFP (on clear blue). Cried a lot (happy tears). Now praying this one sticks! There is nothing worse than seeing others get pregnant so quickly, when yours seems to be taking forever. It is NORMAL to take time to conceive and certainly doesn't mean anything is wrong with you! Those apps like Glow etc are just full of women who seem to get BFP's in a few cycles. People who have taken a long time certainly don't post even a quarter as much (until we get our BFP!!!). I hope my story touches at least one person who is in a bit of a dark place right now in their TTC journey. I'm not sending 'Baby Dust' as that is possibly the most infuriating saying out there. Instead I wish you all the luck in the world and hope to read your BFP stories soon too.

TWW symptoms day by day

Let me just say I hate the TWW! It’s such an emotional rollercoaster. Anyway- I’m very excited to submit my story as I’ve been stalking this page monthly for reassurance and support. 4dpo-gums bleed when I brush 5dpo-bloat and constipation (I’m rarely constipated with my green smoothie daily so this definitely made me stop in my tracks) 6dpo-irritable, comstipated, exhausted, bloated, flu like feeling 7dpo-nausea, bloat, constipated, pulling on right pelvic side, tiny pin prick like spot of pink blood, 8dpo-runny nose, constipation, diarrhea, tired, 9dpo-tired, runny nose, headache 10dpo-ears plugged, headache 11dpo-hot flash, flu feeling, exhausted 12 dpo- tested and got a discouraging BFN. Knew it was early though. Extremely irritable, tired, drank some wine on a Friday night but it didn’t taste that great. 13 dpo - BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe it. Now for the lil one to stay healthy in there. Hope this helps someone stuck in the never ending two week wait. Baby dust to all!

BFP at 9 DPO, very few symptoms. BD 2x

My cycles are 33-35 days. We have been trying 3 months total. 2 months ago I had a chemical pregnancy, lines never darkened and eventually faded and my period was 2 days late. This cycle: we used clearblue advanced digital OPK, we used Preseed for the first time. We do some supplements, I take Maca, inositol, and some vitamins. My husband takes vitamins, Maca, tribulus and D-aspartic acid (low sex drive stuff). I also have been doing progesterone cream starting 3-5 dpo last cycle and this cycle. This month my clearblue advanced digital that normally has given 2-3 days of High before peak only gave me 1 day of Peak. Last BD was CD 6. CD 17 = High, BD with preseed at night, rested on my back 30 mins and slept on my right side because that was the side i thought i was O'ing from.. That evening my cheap OPK was SOO virtually positive but the digital still just shCDowed high CD 18= Peak at 5am, nothing else CD 19= O day, BD with preseed at night, same stuff as the the last session 1 DPO= Right pelvic pain 3 DPO= cramps, all day, pressure-y, quite constant, def in my reproductive region and not gas 7 DPO= noticed a little blood when brushing my teeth, just a smidge. negative internet cheapies (turns out my batch absolutely sucked) 9 DPO= AM took internet cheapy, saw a hint of a shadow when light shined behind it.. took Walmart cheapy and FRER, def positive 12 DPO= stuffy nose, light cramping. Dark FRER. Positive digital They have progressed and are looking good! I had more symptoms last month when i didn't conceive!

I can’t believe it!

So this month our first month really trying and surprisingly we got pregnant! This will be our second child. I didn’t use OPKs, but was tracking my cycle with fertility friend. My cycles have been anywhere between 26-32 days with my OV day between 15-18. I got EW CM on CD 13 and CD 14, which led us to BD on CD 14 and CD 15 with preseed. After suspected OV day between CD15 to CD17, I got creamy CM, bursts of energy, tired at night (normally struggle to fall asleep before midnight and was going to bed by 8:30/9), wanted to clean the house constantly (not my thing lol) and got several twinges in my stomach. I was little moody, but that’s not terribly new! Poor DH. My CM has been creamy since OV, which is new as it usually becomes sticky or non existent. I just knew something was different this time. I tested on CD 26 and got my BFP! My DH and I are very excited. Baby will be born in June 2018!! Baby dust to you all!!
