Early Pregnancy Symptoms and Big Fat Positives

BFP with Clomid

Good old Clomid. Many is the BFP story that references Clomid at least somewhere along the way. And here you'll find a whole mess of them in one place. If you're taking Clomid and looking for some inspiration, look no further. This page is for you.

And when you get your BFP while taking Clomid, we want to hear from you! Send me your symptoms through this contact form.

God's timing is perfect.

I don't even know where to start. My Dh & I have been ttc for 2 years now. 2 months ago I was told I have pcos and was given clomid. First months taking it, I got very discouraged when AF showed up. Second month, I was still discouraged thinking that I would start any day, now 6 pregnancy tests later I can finally say I'm pregnant! I prayed everyday that God would bless us with a baby when the time was right. Two days before my positive, I prayed and cried harder than ever and here I am now. I continue to pray that this baby sticks! I had very few symptoms, I normally have more on my other cycles. What I did experience at about 8 dpo was a yeast infection, which I've never had before. I was told it could be from the clomid or pregnancy. I also had sore breasts from about 8 dpo to now, they are normally sore every cycle at that same time, so I never considered this a symptom for me. Something else unusual was extreme hunger pains in the middle of the night. Those are the only 3 symptoms I had, so don't count yourself out if you don't have many symptoms! The one thing I did different this month was I actually used preseed with the applicator, every other month we just used it externally. I know how frustrating it is to hear, it will happen when it suppose to happen, but that can't be more true. I'm so thankful for the struggle of infertility cause the timing of this pregnancy couldn't be better. I wish everyone the best of luck, don't give up and put God first, the rest will fall into place.

BFP Clomid + IUI Cycle #3

I am so glad I came across this discussion board and all of your stories just 3 days ago. My husband and I have been TTC for two years, since we got married in July of 2013. I am 33 and he is 32 (both going on 34 and 33 in a couple of weeks) and the only thing that was a concern was my hypothyroidism. In 2012, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and had the radioactive iodine treatment, which eventually made me hypothyroid and placed on thyroid medication. We TTC on our own for a year at the recommendation of my doctor but were not successful. My doctor then asked if I wanted to be referred to infertility and I said yes. TTC on our own put such a strain on our marriage - using OPK to determine my fertility window, I became obsessive about BD during those days no matter what, even if we were dead tired and had to get up early for work the next day. I really felt the urgency because I felt like I was past my baby-making prime being that I was already in my 30s. Some of those nights, my husband was just not up for BD because he commutes an hour to and from work and has to get up really early. On top of that, he did not feel the urgency I did because he felt I was still young and there are many women who get pregnant at my age and older. It got to a point where one night, when he wasn't up for it, I got so upset and we ended up staying up late discussing everything. I came to the realization that we may never get on the same page in terms of the urgency to get pregnant and he even suggested that perhaps we needed to seek counseling to get us on the same page. I was so disheartened at this - I wanted to have a baby so bad but at the same time I was really concerned that after only one year of marriage, we were already talking about seeking counseling. We eventually agreed that the referral to infertility may be helpful in more ways than one. We had our consultation in September 2014 and diagnosed with unexplained infertility. The plan was to start with Clomid and IUI for a few cycles before moving on. We did our first cycle in October 2014 and second in November 2014, both ending in BFN. Because the process is so time consuming and required us to take time off work, we decided to take a break and wait until my Spring Break (I am a teacher) in March. When I went back in March to start a new cycle, the ultrasound showed that I had a cyst on my right ovary and I had to skip that cycle. After that, we just decided to wait until summer as I would be on break and my husband took the entire month of July off for vacation. I had been going through a lot of stress because of work so it was best to wait until I was stress free and was able to go in anytime. We did our IUI on July 1st and I was told to go in for a blood test two weeks later, which would be July 15. A few days after our IUI, we went down to Disneyland for a couple of days. I figured maybe a couple of days at the Happiest Place on Earth would do us some good. When we got back, I was extremely exhausted...unusual from the I normally am after some time away. I was taking at 1-2 naps every day and sleeping 8-10 hours and on top of that, I was getting up to pee every hour. So I started searching the internet about IUI success stories, early symptoms, etc. and I came across this board. I read that several of you tested early around 10-12 DPIUI so after that on Sat night (7/11) I decided to take a HPT just for fun...I expected to get a BFN since that's what I usually got when I tested early but l got a BFP instead! I was still cautious about it because I didn't want to get my hopes up only to be disappointed later so I decided that I would test again the next day but with a couple of different brands - again I got a BFP on both tests I took. Still cautious after that but more hopeful since I can't possibly have that many false positives, right? Well, I tested yesterday and today and again both were positive. My blood test is scheduled for tomorrow so we're hoping it is confirmed! I don't wish infertility on anyone. It's such a difficult experience to go through, especially when it is unexplained. It's so easy to get discouraged because you pretty much have no control over making it (pregnancy) happen and you see it happening to so many people around you so easily. I really think finding boards like this or finding people you can talk to for support is really helpful. I've been on several forums for people who are struggling with infertility and doing treatments like IUI and I found it comforting. I also know a former high school classmate of mine who was open about her struggle with infertility on FaceBook so I reached out to her when we got our referral and she really gave me some great advice and encouragement. Don't give up hope! Find the right people that you can go to and read/listen to experiences of people who are going through or have gone through the same thing.

I think this is it!

Hi all I took Clomid for the first time this cycle. Last period was June 18th. I THINK I ovulated on July 4th (according to Fertility Friend), but my temps are always all over the place and it's hard to tell! I think it's possible it was even early, on the 2nd or 3rd. Anywho, my temps have stayed up in the 98.'s for the last few days which NEVER happens! And yesterday I tried the cheapy internet pregnancy test strips (if I DID ovulate on July 4th, that would mean this was 8 DPO) and got a faint line for the first time ever (after 6 months of TTC and testing like crazy)! I tried again this morning with both the cheap strip AND a First Response and again saw faint lines. I am SO excited but also so nervous because I have had zero symptoms aside from continued elevated temps and cervical fluid that has stayed creamier/sometimes has the tiniest yellow tinge. I'm going to the doctor's office for a blood test on Wednesday, but I really, REALLY want to tell my husband tonight, and I think I will.... Fingers crossed this all is REAL and stays real!

PCOS BFP after 3 years TTC!

I had almost given up hope. 3 years TTC, multiple doctors and no luck. Finally went to a Repoductive Endocrinologist and 2 cycles later... BFP!!!! About us: I have PCOS and am 30 years old. He is 33 with no known issues. My OB/GYNs had used clomid over and over, with progesterone to start cycle when needed. I was up to 200 MG and was ovulating, but nothing. Then I go see the RO and he gives me femara 5mg for one cycle (to clear any abnormal tissue from uterus) , and then took provera at end of cycle to start period. Then I was given 50 MG clomid for following cycle.... and here we are! We used preseed and softcups, as well as Evening primrose oil and mucinex... and the new thing for this cycle was Summer's Eve cleaner daily to maintain pH. Also used BBT for the past 3 years religiously, but switched to vaginal temping this cycle for accuracy. Symptoms: 1-3 dpo: nothing really, a little constipated. 4 -6 dpo: constipation, gassy, headache. 7-10 dpo: light cramping off and on, thought it was from recent constipation... like maybe I bruised something. BFN on 10dpo. 11-12 dpo: temp super high. breasts sore like AF coming. Still cramps and sore, thought maybe I should see a doctor, but I let it go. The evening of 12 DPO decided to test... light but very clear BFP (the one in the pic) So shocked I took 8 more tests over the next two days. Now I am 5 weeks and 2 days... due March 5th. Beta HCG 236! Cramps feeling continues but not like AF, more like a sore, heavy pulling feeling. Took another test last night for funsies... very dark line! So super excited!

BFP after 4 1/2 years TTC!

I'm still kind of in shock about this, but here goes: This was my 5th cycle on Clomid, 100mgs. We used nothing outside of Clomid and Progesterone cream after ovulation. 1-3 DPO - Nothing 4 DPO - Sore back (not uncommon) 5 DPO - THIS was the day I knew something was up. I was a little crampy on and off throughout the day, but that night while I was lying in bed I FELT implantation. It was a very distinct and unique sensation on the left side from my uterus to my hip. 6 DPO - Sore like I did a bunch of crunches, but I didn't do any type of exercise that would cause it. 7 DPO - My husband says he's not sure if he can tell or not, but I SWEAR my aereolas are darker. 8 DPO - Still sore abs, lots of cramping like I get when I ovulate (but obviously I'm not). 9 DPO- My boobs are sore which is weird because I never have sore boobs. Sore/hard nipples? Sure. Sore boobs? Not so much. 10 DPO - BFP!!!! My back hurts, I have heart burn, and all sorts of twinges, pulls, and cramps. My abs are still sore. Took a FRER with first morning urine and see a line! I've never seen a line before!! It was faint, but still definitely there. I waited about 10 minutes and looked again and there is a very distinct if thin line. Took another one closer to noon and it shows positive even faster! Went to grab digital ones just to make SURE and get a quick "pregnant". I can't believe I'm finally here typing this!

IUI#2 All things are possible with God

Hello All, Iam so thrilled and excited to announce I'm Pregnant.... (First time ever I'm got positive pregnancy test in 4years). I would like to Thank God for this special blessing in my life after 4years and I have been visiting this site almost 1 year now and it's gives so much hope to read the BFP stories. I hope my story helps someone who is going through the same thing. I and my Husband are married and TTC for 4years now and I was diagnosed with severe Pcos and Hypothyriod. I never had a period on my own I always have to take medication to jump start my periods. We are basically from India moved to USA a year and half ago for my hubby's work and back in India tired few things like clomid and femara and injectables nothing worked and Hubby's sperm analysis looked great and for me we got the follicular study done which showed my follicles are not growing to definite size and HSG done both tubes were clear. After moving to United States,I started workout and I lost around 15lbs and then we planned to start over the treatment and visited OBGYN and she did all the blood work which look good, however without wasting much time she referred us to fertility specialist and there doc gave us option of IUI and lucky charm second IUI worked for us and I also believe that losing weight had contributed much to my health issues to come under control. Here are my symptoms AF- 24th April CD 3-7 Clomid - 26th April to 30th April CD 15 First Ultrasound May 8th (2 follicles Right side 17mm and left side 14mm) CD 17 HCG Shot - 10th May 9:30pm CD 19 IUI - 12th May 9:30am (Husband's SC: 18millions) CD 20-22 -1DPIUI - 3DPIUI - No Symptoms CD 23-25 -4DPIUI - 6DPIUI - Sharp pains in left and right ovaries CD 26-30 - 7DPIUI -11DPIUI - Light Cramping CD 31 - 12DPIUI - spotting(Probably Implantation) CD 32 - 13DPIUI - slight Breast tenderness, tested with Internet cheapie (not with morning urine) faint positive CD 33 - 14DPIUI - slight Breast tenderness, tested with digital early morning and it said PREGNANT :) ( it was completely unbelievable and I was into happy tears) CD 33 - 14DPIUI-Beta#1 - 94 CD 36 - 17DPIUI-Beta#2 - 267 Things I did different this time around - after IUI I continued to laid on my back for 15 mins - Hubby gave sample at the clinic (not like last time from home ) - hubby took fertilaid for men for just 10days ( just to boost up the count) - excerised daily even after IUI (yoga and aerobics) Last time I just was relaxing the whole 2weeks My first IUI failed but bingo Iam pregnant with second IUI and so grateful to God as I lost all hopes and devastated when my first IUI failed I thought this is never going to happen. But I believed and had faith on God,I just told God May your will be done in my life and left everything to God and boom!!the second IUI worked for us.. I just pray that this little baby bean sticks and to have healthy pregnancy. Please don't lose hope( I know it is very difficult if someone say this) but miracles do happen. I pray for those all who are struggling to get pregnant Baby dust to all. God bless you all

Bfp after ttc 18 months

Just some background - I have one child already ,a boy, I conceived on the second month with him. We started trying for # 2 in January 2014, actively trying from April 2014. It was a very frustrating and a long year, not one single bfp. December 2014 I went to see my OBgyn and we ruled out PCOS as i was having regular cycles and no other symptoms( Although since we started actively trying they were jumping from 28 -34 days which was not normal for me ) The doctor said we should try for 3 more months then come back to him. He also noted that my follicles that cycle were not as developed as he would have like to see them, but didn't discuss it any further. We also tested my progesterone and it came back as very borderline/inconclusive. Well, in February 2015 i got my bfp but had a miscarriage just after 5 weeks, i was so disappointed but we kept on trying. When 3 months later I still hadn't conceived i was fed up, called the OB and asked for Clomid, we discussed it further and he said he also thinks my eggs are not maturing and that the Clomid may be the boost i need to mature my eggs and up my progesterone. He monitored me that cycle and i had 2 mature follicles, Progesterone was great 7dpo. ( 43.4 nmol/L ) Took CB Digital ovulation tests from 10dpo, got a strong positive CD 16 , had ovulation cramps Cd 17 1-6 dpo - no symptoms, I took Clomid days CD 4 - 8 , 50 mg 7 dpo - tested progesterone, doctor confirms that i did ovulate 8 - 9 dpo - not much going on, tying to keep myself from symptom spotting 10 dpo - a lot of pinching/stabbing pain near my ovaries all through the evening. 11 - 12 dpo - the one symptom i also had with my miscarriage, globs of creamy, cloudy cm that i don't usually have during the luteal phase, this made me think and i took a test and got my bfp at 12dpo at 8pm with a 2 hour hold 13 dpo - keep testing to see progression of lines ( bit paranoid after miscarriage ) 15dpo - do blood work and get my Hcg level of 353, progesterone 101.5 nmol/L - YAY im very pregnant! We are very excited and cautiously optimistic this will be a sticky baby. Just want to give other hope that clomid can help with immature eggs and low levels of progesterone even if you ovulate on your own and have regular cycles. I had sore breast as side effect from the Clomid but not during the tww, only reappeared 13 dpo. Other things i did : Preseed Softcups Legs in the air 30min after bd vitamins - Pregnacare conception Clearblue digital ovulation test I was a mess this whole time ttc, I couldn't understand why God didn't want me to have another child and felt so confused after the miscarriage, and i still don't understand why but i do trust in God's timing and that He knows so much better what we need and when we need it. And i learned the hard way that we have NO control over certain things and it was foolish to think that i ever had. Trust in God and do not rely on your own understanding of things.

PCOS & Clomid Round 5...hoping this BFP sticks!

I have PCOS and started working with my doctor about 8 months ago with the goal of getting pregnant. I rarely have a period (usually once every few months), so I knew ovulating was going to be an issue. My doctor prescribed Provera and Clomid. I didn't ovulate on 50 mg or 100 mg of Clomid (progesterone 0.2), then at 150 mg my progesterone was 34 so I was stoked that I ovulated. Honestly, during that cycle, I was feeling pretty discouraged and probably didn't BD as much as I should have during my window, so no pregnancy. I went into the next 150 mg round hopeful and had no success. Needless to say, with this round, I was feeling pretty down on myself that I would never get pregnant or ovulate. Regardless, DH and I had sex like bunnies all week to cover our bases. I had a few close to positive OPK's around CD 14-17, but nothing positive. I FINALLY got a positive OPK on CD 20. I went in as scheduled to get my progesterone bloodwork done on CD 21, and it came back 0.2 again. Feeling pretty bummed, I temped for a day or two after that and didn't have an increase, so I pretty much stopped paying attention and looking for possible symptoms. When my doctor called this week with the progesterone results, she suggested that if I do another cycle, instead of upping the dose to 200 mg Clomid, we do the Provera and 150 mg Clomid, then ultrasound during probable ovulation time and medication to trigger ovulation. She told me to wait a few more days and take a pregnancy test just to be absolutely sure I wasn't preggo before starting Provera. I temped a few times this week and noticed my temperature times were slightly up, and that I had some breast and underarm tenderness. I took a Wondfo dip strip test yesterday (CD 34), and imagine my shock when I saw a very faint pink line! I spent all day second-guessing myself but promising that I wouldn't take another test until this morning. I took another Wondfo as well as an Answer lab strip test (which are known for not showing positive until WAY down the line), and both tests were super dark positive lines! I'm going in for my blood test this afternoon! I know how common it is to miscarry early, so I'm half-excited and half-freaking out, telling myself not to get my hopes up for another seven weeks or so. My guess is that I ovulated right after my progesterone test on CD 21 and that's why it came up negative. My other guess is that I need to calm the heck down and stop stalking internet pregnancy forums, but I JUST CAN'T STOP. IT'S BABY CRACK. I should note that over the last month I've really gone above and beyond as far as diet and exercise go. I've always been very active and healthy, but this month I noticed a few extra pounds accumulating and followed this diet: Monday-Friday I went mostly vegetarian or pescatarian, got my sugars from fruits or raw honey pretty much exclusively (and didn't have those in high quantities, either), didn't eat dairy and kept it gluten-free. I ate lots of raw veggies, lentils, beans, nuts and chickpeas, and made a conscious effort to find appealing salad recipes to keep things interesting. I also didn't drink on the weekdays (whereas typically I'd have a drink every night, weekends several). I will say that I cheated like crazy on the weekends, because let's be honest, who the hell can eat that clean every day??? I don't know if the diet was what did it, but I lost 9 pounds, so who cares! I'll keep it up, especially now that I may have a little bun in the oven to nourish! In the photo, the top test is the one I took yesterday (urine was a little diluted as I was EXTREMELY THIRSTY and chugged water all night...maybe a symptom or maybe just losing my mind). Bottom two are the ones I took this morning, same urine sample. Sorry so long, just wanted to be as detailed as possible for all of you who are obsessively reading this over like I have! Best of luck and baby dust to all!

I still can't believe I get to write one of these bfp stories! I never thought my time would actually come! A little background, I went off bcp in February of 2014 to prepare myself to start TTC. I was on the pill for 10 years. Had a few periods, and my cycles kept getting longer. It had finally been 4 months without a period so I made an appointment with my doctor. In November of 2014 I was diagnosed with PCOS. In January of 2015 I started taking Metformin, 1500mg a day. In February I ovulated on my own and had a period, I was ECSTATIC! I've continued to have periods on my own since then. Cycles ranging between 32-35 days. I still was not getting pregnant, so my doctor prescribed Clomid, 50mg for days 3-7 and looks like it did the trick! So, what you've all been waiting for, here are the deets! CD14: Ewcm, BD CD16: Lots of ewcm, afternoon OPK was really dark but not yet positive, cramping in ovaries CD17: Blazing positive OPK, BD, lots of cramping in ovaries, was pretty dry today, no ewcm, confirmed O day with temp spike following day. 1DPO: Temp spike to confirm O, still positive OPK, slight cramping in ovary area, had vivid sex dream. Already felt out thinking that we may have missed the timing. We only BD'ed O-3 and O day. 2DPO: OPK negative, slight cramping in ovary area, vivid sex dream 3DPO: Vivid sex dream, slight cramping still 4DPO: Diarrhea, slight cramping in ovary area 5DPO: Vivid dream about having twins and breastfeeding 6DPO: Very dry mouth! (from 6dpo until today I have really dry mouth and am constantly thirsty!) Oily skin (still have it), acne breakout, really strong AF like cramps in uterus area at night time. Implantation? 9DPO: Felt pretty out this cycle, but decided to take a Wondfo in the morning. BFaintP! Saw nothing immediately so I put it in the drawer. Went back an hour later and I swore I saw something! In all the years and stark white hpt's, I've never seen anything remotely close to what I saw! I had cramping that radiated through my pelvic bone and thigh area, gassy, diarrhea again, can't seem to sleep in which is weird cause I am not a morning person! 10DPO: BFP on FRER with FMU. Definite line! Finally! Can't believe it! Super thirsty, gassy, can't sleep in 11DPO: Darker line on FRER. Confirmed with Clearblue Digital, Pregnant 1-2 weeks! Thirsty, gassy, can't sleep in 12DPO: today! Gassy, thirsty, frequent urination, still oily skin, slight cramping. I'm so excited and I can't believe I got a bfp so early. I swore I had more "symptoms" on BFN months, than I did this month! No sore boobs, no nausea! Only things that made me curious was the intense cramping on 6DPO, the vivid dreams, and super thirsty with dry mouth! Also, the last two months I started spotting on 6dpo till AF showed. This month, no spotting at all! Good luck to all of you ladies! Praying for a sticky bean! I'll be 4 weeks on the 18th! Due date is Feb 25th 2016 :)

Love Clomid can't get prego without it!

This is my third pregnancy, hopefully I can keep this one. I already have a 2 yrs old from clomid, metformin, prenatal vit and preseed. My symptoms are very bad mood swings, get mad/frustrated easily, can cry at a drop of the hat, but the dead give away are the intense tender breasts/tingling/itchy nipples in the 3 wk. By day 29 I took the $1 store prego test and got a faint positive. Then seven days later I took another test and it was two solid dark purple line. I hope that by taking metformin, baby aspirin, progesterone, prenatal vit and folic acid 3x/ day I can keep this little bean bc I have pcos since I was 11. My regular Obgyn just give me birth control to regulate my cycle. I knew it was not normal so I ask my pc to refer me to a RE after a yr of trying without any success. One look at my ovaries covered with cyst he diagnosis me n help me take the rite cocktail of hormones to have my daughter.
