Overwhelmed and new :}

Hello! I posted this in the infertility thread but it'd be great to have a "buddy" or anybody going through the same thing so I don't feel so alone. I moved from my home a couple years ago clear across my state to move in with, and then get married to, my husband. I still haven't found a close friend up here.
Hubs and I have been ttc for 7 cycles (I'm 33, he's 42) and my Gyn has done u/s, bloods and knows I am ovulating, doesn't suspect anything is "wrong". He stated that he suspects male factor. Hubs' SA came back high count but low motility and morph. He has referred us to an RE which makes me depressed, but moreso I've been developing huge fears of the HSG test, which I know is coming. I've never been good with paps or anything going inside me (I don't even use tampons). I need some encouragement I guess. I know the test is fast but then I always worry about the next thing. I'm kind of shell-shocked that I'm going to have to be seeing a fertility doctor at all. I was so hoping it would have happened by now. Yesterday I was fine but then I messed up something I was knitting, and got pms cramps and cried for hours. Help?

Although it seems like forever 7 cycles isn't long at all in the grand scheme of things, it can take a healthy couple up to 18months to conceive. Your husbands SA although low morphology is high count so that's massively in yohr favour. I was like you with the hsg and fear of anything up there, for me it was a 5yeat journey that ended up with IVF. Not saying that will happen to you, but just to put it in perspective:). Hsg really isn't that bad, the internet makes it seem soo much worse (and trust me I was a wreck crying on the table when they did it lol I am such a baby with these things). What was your hubbys count? Hopefully you get your bfp before they look to di HSG, but if not then trust me when I say all of the poking and prodding is worth it when you feel those little kicks and hold your baby at the end of it. It all just fades into the background. It's also good practice for when you are pregnant and all shame gets thrown out of the window during birth hehe :)

Good luck :)

I agree, don't read about the HSG online! I had a SIS, which is essentially the HSG, but with plain saline instead of dye. It was uncomfortable here and there, but not awful, and pretty quick. And it gave me huge peace of mind-- I've spent 18 months worrying I had scar tissue causing my losses, but the SIS proved all was clear and so that's one more thing we can check off the list.

While it's scary to move forward with specialist and testing, you really are lucky they're looking into things this early. Normally they make you wait at least a year. My guess is you will feel much more positive about things after meeting with the doctor!

Hi Ladies thank you so much for replying!

Amouna: Thank you for making me feel less alone about the HSG fear. I am always a wreck even before a pap! So I couldn't even imagine. I don't even wear tampons. But you're right. It will be worth it. And I'm praying it's all good up there. My husband's count was something like 266 mil or something? Don't have it in front of me but it was high. The motility was only 29% and the Morph was low too. I've since had him on Vits and Supplements. I know my doctor seems confident everything is ok on my side, it's just hard to believe that there would be problems with such a high count! Plus I did have chlamydia for a couple months when I was 21. So there's that lingering fear.

BeeCee: I do try to look at it like it's a step in the right direction. 18 months is a long time to put yourself through unnecessary stress!
