What Vitamins and Supplements Are You Taking?

Postby bulldogsmom » Fri Feb 03, 2012 5:22 pm

Was just wondering what everyone was taking while TTC.

I currently am taking
Fish Oil
Vitamin E, B6, B12, C
Folic Acid
Womens Multivitamin

I take these throughout my cycle. Do you think it is too much? Should i add anything else? I'm just unsure what the best thing to take would be. 34 :( TTC #1 and trying since August.

I also Drink one cup of Red Raspberry leaf tea and one cup of decaf green tea a day.

I just got a positive today, they're running blood to confirm it since it was very faint...but they're guessing that's because I'm only 3 days past late for :af:

I started a prenatal vitamin (target brand), and I changed my diet a whole lot...I upped my intake of veggies, lots of spinach and mushrooms, and fruits, and orange juice. Along with absolutely no more than 300 mg of caffeine, usually limiting myself to only 1 (12oz) can of soda per day. Then I drank a TON of water....like 3 - 4 big smart water bottles, and 2 - 3 of the medium smart water bottles (I refilled it so I didn't waste plastic too much).

I cut out all fast food, all greasy bad food for the most part, and a lot of the major carb filled foods. I did cheat with potato chips. I couldn't get enough potato chips!!!

But other than that, this was our second month really trying, and there's a pretty good chance we hit it out of the park...and I'll be 31 in to weeks.

I hope this helps, and babydust to you all.

^ Congrats!

I am taking:

* Women's multivitamin
* Cal/Mag
* Vit B 100 complex
* Evening primrose Oil during follicular phase
* Vit D

The multi vit covers most, but the cal/mag/vitB/vitD are extra.

The Vit B and EPO have made a HUGE difference in the amount of EWCM I'm getting and for how many days. I am super happy with it. Wow, what a difference. I feel like I'm in my 20's again!

I wasn't a big coffee drinker before (1 cup/day) but I am drinking decaf tea instead, cutting back on alcohol (weekends or not at all, depending if i'm bummed about getting AF!) and taking in more fibre...

I have looked for raspberry leaf tea, but haven't found it... but I have heard good things :)
Me: 39 multinodular goitre, completed 3 cycles of heavy metal detox, HSG Sept 20/12 - R tube open, L was slightly blocked, cleared during procedure, exploratory lap Feb 25/13 found mild endo (2 spots) removed and tubes flushed.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!! I'm happy for your positive!.

I jusy bought baby aspirin today to add to my list, i've seen a lot of positive regarding it.

I too had to cut back on the caffeine, i stopped drinking soda and cut back on the coffee and am really just trying to drink tea. You can find the red raspberry leaf tea at any vitamin store or order it online at like Amazon or Vitamin Shoppe.

So EPO helps with CM? I never seem to have EWCM it just seen to be sticky (sorry TMI).

Remember...as with everything, don't just substitute suppliments in exchange for a healthy diet. Lots of fruits, veggies, leafy greens....it all helps.

I'm taking a multi every 2-3 days. For some reason if I take them daily I get weird side effects. (Extreme fatigue, big odd bumps..) Maybe I should start taking them at night to prevent fatigue... Right now that's all I'm taking, but I'm thinking about EPO. I've been hearing great things about it for years.

I'm so sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy.

I only take Pregnacare prenatals with Omega 3. Although I have just started drinking raspberry leaf tea for the first half of my cycle.

I eat loads of fruits and veg, and have a pretty healthy diet and lifestyle. I did have to cut down on exercise though, as I over-exercised before ttc.

I'm down to one small cup of coffee in the morning (used to drink caffeine like it was going out of fashion!), and I'm aiming to replace that with decaf in the next couple of weeks.

I've never really been much of a drinker, so I don't really worry about that (although I won't drink during the ttw - just in case!)

I've been TTC #1 for 4 months. New to the forum, but have been browsing for advice for a while.
I've been using:
Vitex up to O (not sure if this is a good idea and am coming off it if no BFP this cycle)
EPO to O (has increased ewcm)
Pre conception vits
L-arganine daily
Robutusin a few days before and after O
Milk thistle if I've had a drink or ate something naughty.

I've really cut down on caffeine. Have a decaffe placebo coffee in the morning and just 1 cup of tea a day (its lower in caffeine and I can't stand defaffe tea :? )
I drink grapefruit juice in the morning from CD1 to O as it is supposed to increase EWCM.
I've cut down on alcohol (and I really like drinking :cry: ) so I only have a few units at the weekend.

My diet has been healthy for years. I have the odd treat. I cut down on exercises - no more half marathons, but I do cycle on average 40 miles a week and roller skate for 5 hours a week. Is this still too much?
Also the BF regularly drags me walking up and down mountains, but I'll have to put my foot down about that.

I am only taking a multi vitamin and this month might try a baby asprin post O, i'm considering Mucinex this week as I did that with DS and got preggo. I've cut way back on caffine and only have one cup of coffee in the morning. I drink a ton of water and eat healthy. I have cut out all alcohol in the 2ww and only allow myself one drink a week leading up to O. I've been trying to lose the rest of my baby weight from DS anyway so I'm watching my carbs, sweets as is.

Good luck to all of you!

I am 36 and TTC after a tubal reversal in July. I am taking a prenatal vitamin with DHA all the time and royal jelly, EPO, and mucinex from the first day of AF to ovulation which was today. Using CBE digital and got a smiley face yesterday at 9am, 2pm, and this AM at 830. Then a negative at 2pm. I know the instructions say you dont have to test after getting the positive but I wanted to see how long it would stay positive. BD yesterday and this morning. Pretty certain I ovulated within a few hours of BD today. Gonna harass my DH tonight too just to make sure...LOL. Hoping this works! :D

My doctor suggested Prenate mini - I took it for two weeks and found that my OTC multivitamin was better than the prenatal. I'm sticking with Sam's club version of Centrum, and I'm keeping my added dose of b-complex and vitamin c. I added fish oil because I was missing the DHA.

I've seen a lot of other women talk about baby aspirin and mucinex. What are the benefits?
