Anyone have statistics for multiple IUI success?

Postby Puddles-O-Cuddles » Mon Apr 18, 2016 7:58 am

Hey all!

So, I'm due to be getting my first follicle check this week, and my first IUI to follow accordingly, but I'm wondering if anyone had some statistics I haven't been able to find.

I've read that for my situation (mild male factor, plus PCOS for me) our chances of IUI working each time is something like 8-20% (Or "about the same as a fertile couple with timed intercourse")

We've all heard that if IUI is going to work for a couple, it will probably work in the first 3 cycles (hence why they normally recommend IVF after 3 cycles in most cases) so what I'm wondering is :
What are the statistics for couples who do 3 IUIs? As in how many couples concieve during any of 3 IUIs?

For me, I feel like it would be better to focus on a larger, longer term statistic going into our IUIs than to focus on a small number like 8%.
Let me know if y'all have any leads. Thanks!

Hey Puddles!

I think the multiple success rate for IUIs will depend largely on the reason for the advanced techniques being used. If its PCOS diagnosis, IUI success rate is higher than unexplained IF. It is my understanding that the IUI success rate for multiple IUIs is like that a typical couple without any infertility issues (20% per month max, 50-60% max after 3 months?).

Here is a website that I've looked at before in helping me understand the differences:

Hope this helps!
