Early Pregnancy Symptoms and Big Fat Positives
First ever BFP at 41 years old after 12 months TTC, all natural!
Hi there, I've been a long time lurker of this board since we started ttc over 12 months ago. Only just married the love of my life coming up 2 years. Last month we decided to go in for some basic tests. I spent almost $300 on an internal ultrasound which lasted for an hour and was very thorough. In the end they couldn't see anything abnormal and both technicians remarked separately about my beautiful ovaries lol! (No sign of PCOS which I was diagnosed with 7 years ago). Hubby was due to go in for a sperm test and I'm awaiting results of hormone blood test :) This month as well was very stressful - I worked late till 10pm 2-3 nights a week plus Sundays, we really thought we had no chance! I haven't had any symptoms at all except slight fatigue which I thought was from working too hard :) Right after ovulation I get very sore breasts until menstruation. I got them this month and was waiting for my period to start. The only thing different was last week I found myself getting really really hot in bed where as hubby was freezing. Anyway this morning my period was 4 days late and just for fun and boredom I thought I'd use the last pregnancy test. Was holding off as it was an expensive (not internet cheapie) one and highly sensitive 10iU, but then thought I might as well get rid of it and get a fresh batch of tests! Lol We went out straight away to get a digital test and confirmed positive but I was pretty confident from the first test since I have never ever got even a squinter of a second line before. This one came back with two strong dark lines within minutes! I believe all life is divinely given and every pregnancy and birth is a special miracle, so in terms of advice I don't really have much to say other than to eat healthy, mild excercise, sleep and sunshine, all common sense really. Hubby and I have been having green breakfast smoothies every day for a year now. We include greens and some fruit like bananas and also zinc and milk thistle tablets. I highly recommend eating lots of fresh greens as it it so good for you and the body absorbs it better than tablets. Anyway I know it's early days and it might not stick for long but nevertheless we are really excited and happy to see our first bfp after so long!
