Cramps at 4 weeks

Postby Jackieb1014 » Sat Nov 05, 2016 9:11 am

Hello everyone,

I am experiencing cramps today, pretty uncomfortable. This is my 7th pregnancy and I am 38 years old. #1 early miscarriage, #2 beautiful 10yo daughter, #3 beautiful 8yo son, #4 early miscarriage, #5 beautiful (almost) 6yo daughter, #6 late/2nd trimester miscarriage at 17's heart stopped beating around 15 weeks, no explanation. Everything was fine up to that point. Had 1st trimester screening and all was well. Baby sent for testing after D&E and no answers. I had extensive blood work done a few months ago and everything was normal. Lost the baby end of March, 2016.

We feel very fortunate to have 3 beautiful, wonderful and healthy children and to be pregnant again, but I will be a wreck (probably the entire pregnancy) this time. Doing my best not to obsess and just relax as I know that is what is best for me and the baby. So I am feeling cramps today. Radiating to my back and just generally achy and uncomfortable in the lower back and lower abdomen area. The pain shoots to the left and right side of my uterus every now and then. Sometimes just achy and other times sharp shooting pain. I feel like this is probably normal, and no bleeding. But just checking to see if anyone experienced the same and what the outcome was?

The first day of my last period was 10/9/16. Ovulation stick positive 10/23-10/25. I feel like I prob ovulated on 10/24, if so, my positive pregnancy test was on 9dpo. Which makes me about 2 1/2 weeks after conception and will be 4 weeks pregnant tomorrow.

Had my first HCG test on Wednesday, the day I found out (9dpo) and my number was 20. Progesterone was 13. I think these are normal, but I wish a bit higher. Had 2nd HCG on Friday, will get the results and go for 3rd test on Monday.

Any thoughts? Just hoping it is all normal. Praying for a successful pregnancy this time. :)

I have been having a lot of cramps too, first time pregnancy 5 weeks 2 days. My aunt put my worries at ease when she said that this is like starting to blow up a balloon, just the body stretching (round ligament etc.) to accommodate. Hydration has been helping me a lot.

yep, Ive had a lot of cramping too. Between the cramps and nausea, its hard to tell what is making me feel more uncomfortable. It was like this the other two times too so I know its totally normal!

I've been cramping too and every lady I've spoken too about it has reassured me if there's no blood then baby's sweet it's just everything expanding and making room for bubs!
Try to relax as much as you can hun :)
